Our 13 hens have been giving us about 6 eggs a day through the winter so far. It's enough for our normal daily egg intake, for breakfast and a bit of baking here and there. Over the holidays we needed a lot extra, and I was so thankful I'd been glassing them for just the last month of summer! We have about 90 eggs that I've been able to dip into when I want to do some extra baking or make deviled eggs. It was so easy, minimal effort, and the eggs taste just like they were fresh 👏
Just add one oz of pickling lime to a liter of water, and gently set in your unwashed (free of poop and straw) eggs!
I'll definitely be glassing all of our extra eggs this summer!

Notice how they never encourage people to keep a small number of poultry at home... no no, that would make too much sense.
