The true value of silver is difficult to know because markets are extremely manipulated. Interest rates are manipulated,  fiat currency supply is manipulated,  official inflation rates are manipulated,  and commodity markets are manipulated,  among so many other things. The best way to know the value of silver outside these manipulated markets is to look at ratios other than the fiat/silver ratio (price). The Gold/Silver Ratio,  Cape Shiller Index,  Dow/Gold,  Silver/S&P,  income/home price,  Silver/income,   etc...  these all measure something against something, especially the cost of labor (income) when measured in silver. US home prices compared to median income,  according to LongTermTrends,  need to come down at least 1/3 to somewhere between 4 or 5 years medium income for an average home.
