| 3 | _*Daily Morning Devotion 🔥*_
*Honour the Lord*

_Day 191/365_
_1 Samuel 2:30 says, “For them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.”_
Honour is one of the great principles of God’s Kingdom. Throughout Scripture, God consistently honours those who honour Him. While God is faithful to His promises, He also expects His children to respond with reverence, obedience, and wholehearted devotion. Honour is demonstrated not merely by our words but by the way we live, give, and treat others.
When we honour the Lord, we position ourselves for His favour, blessing, and promotion.
Here are three ways to honour the Lord:
1. *Honour the Lord with your substance.*
_Proverbs 3:9–10 says, “Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase.”_
Everything we possess comes from God. As we faithfully honour Him with our resources, we acknowledge Him as our Provider and invite His blessing upon every area of our lives.
2. *Honour God’s Word through obedience.*
_Proverbs 28:9 says, “He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.”_
True honour goes beyond hearing God’s Word; it is demonstrated through obedience. As you align your life with His commands, you show your love and reverence for Him, and you position yourself to experience His favour.
3. *Honour God’s servants and His people.*
_Matthew 10:40 says, “He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.”_
God identifies Himself with those who belong to Him. When we honour His servants and treat fellow believers with respect, kindness, and dignity, we honour the Lord Himself.
_Precious one, choose to honour God in every area of your life. Honour Him with your resources, your obedience, and your treatment of His people. As you honour the Lord, He will honour you and establish His favour upon your life._
*Prayer:*
_Heavenly Father, I purpose to honour You with my life, my substance, my obedience, and my relationships. Help me to live in a way that brings glory to Your name. As I honour You, let Your favour rest upon my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen._

*Walk in Love*

_Day 190/365_
_1 John 4:7–8 says, “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God… He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”_
Love is not merely an emotion; it is the very nature of God. When we are born again, God’s love is poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit. As we grow in Christ, this love becomes evident in the way we relate to God, our families, our friends, and even those who oppose us.
The Bible reveals different expressions of love. While romantic love belongs within marriage, every believer is called to demonstrate God’s unconditional love, genuine affection for others, and deep commitment to family. Walking in love is one of the clearest marks of spiritual maturity.
Here are three expressions of love every believer should cultivate:
1. *Walk in agape, God’s unconditional love.*
_John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son…”_
Agape is sacrificial and unconditional. It chooses to love even when love is not returned. As recipients of God’s grace, we are called to extend that same love to others.
2. *Show affectionate love to others.*
_John 15:13 says, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”_
Healthy friendships flourish where there is genuine care, loyalty, encouragement, and selfless concern. Value the people God has placed in your life and demonstrate your love through your actions.
3. *Strengthen the bonds of family love.*
_Ecclesiastes 4:9 says, “Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.”_
God designed the family to be a place of love, support, and strength. Invest in your family relationships through forgiveness, patience, kindness, and mutual encouragement.
_Precious one, choose to walk in love every day. Let God’s unconditional love shape your relationships, strengthen your family, and draw others to Christ. When you walk in love, you reflect the very character of God._
*Prayer:*
_Heavenly Father, fill my heart afresh with Your love. Help me to love You wholeheartedly, to love others sincerely, and to reflect the character of Christ in every relationship. Let my life be a testimony of Your unfailing love. In Jesus’ name, Amen._

*Take Charge of Your Emotions*

_Day 189/365_
_Exodus 32:19 says, “When Moses approached the camp and saw the calf and the dancing, his anger burned and he threw the tablets out of his hands, breaking them to pieces at the foot of the mountain.”_
Emotions are a gift from God, but they must never be allowed to control us. Joy, sorrow, compassion, and even anger all have their place. However, when emotions become our master instead of our servant, they can lead us into decisions we later regret.
Moses was described as the meekest man on earth, yet there were moments when uncontrolled anger had serious consequences. His life reminds us that spiritual maturity does not exempt anyone from the need for self-control. The Holy Spirit enables us not only to feel rightly but also to respond wisely.
Here are three ways to take charge of your emotions:
1. *Get rid of bitterness.*
_Ephesians 4:31 says, “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger… be put away from you, with all malice.”_
Bitterness poisons the heart and gives rise to anger, resentment, and broken relationships. Forgive quickly and refuse to allow offences to take root.
2. *Exercise self-control.*
_Proverbs 25:28 says, “He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.”_
A lack of self-control leaves you vulnerable to poor decisions. Before reacting, pause, pray, and allow the Holy Spirit to guide your response.
3. *Choose godly actions.*
_Ephesians 4:26 says, “Be ye angry, and sin not…”_
Feeling angry is not the sin. The real issue is how you respond. Instead of speaking harshly or acting impulsively, choose actions that honour God, such as remaining silent, walking away, or responding with wisdom.
_Precious one, never allow your emotions to determine your destiny. As you yield your heart to the Holy Spirit, He will help you respond with wisdom, patience, and self-control. A disciplined spirit will preserve your relationships, protect your future, and bring glory to God._
*Prayer:*
_Heavenly Father, help me to submit my emotions to the control of the Holy Spirit. Remove every root of bitterness from my heart, and give me the grace to respond with wisdom, patience, and self-control in every situation. In Jesus’ name, Amen._
