| 3 |  This week in Top Tip Tuesday, we’re driving particle advection through nxExplosiaFX and nxQuestion. Starting with basic fire and smoke created from an object, we begin animating our particles by introducing an xpEmitter, setting this up to emit from the same object, increasing the birthrate and removing all speed before plugging it in to the nxExplosiaFX for Particle Advection.
With the initial advection set up, we explore the differences between the Position and Velocity Particle Advection modes and then color the particles using a Gradient based on their Temperature data, working out the temperature range in nxExplosiaFX to get accurate coloring.
To finish, we use a simple nxQuestion set up to add an extra level of control and kill particles below our flames threshold. Great for adding extra sophistication to (...)
