At Dísablót, we honor the Dísir, the ancestral mothers who watch over the family and its generations. The focus of the rite is the bjarg and nauðr, the helps and needs, expressed through fertility and infertility.
Fertility is the help, bringing life, growth, prosperity, and the continuation of the family. Infertility is the need, where that life-giving power is absent and divine help is sought. Vilhelm Grønbech’s The Culture of the Teutons is a landmark reconstruction of pagan Germanic life.
The Germanic worldview could hardly be more different from that of the post-Enlightenment West. In this world, the kin, rather than the autonomous individual, is the fundamental human unit. This world must be understood on its own terms, rather than through our familiar categories of individual conscience, abstract justice, personal honour, or religious belief. Grønbech insisted that we start from scratch, understanding Germanic culture from the inside.
The Imperium Press Restored Edition presents the first English translation of the original four-volume Danish edition, with Grønbech’s full text, original structure, and scholarly notes. This new translation preserves terms like Frith, Aera, and Hamingja rather than rendering them into English peace, honor, and luck, which do not always translate. Just as Grønbech recovered a lost worldview from the original sources, this edition recovers these concepts for the reader using the original language.
The Culture of the Teutons is a book that serious students of Germanic life cannot ignore. Those students will find a rich, alien, and compelling world inside Grønbech’s masterwork.

The folkish project in ancestral ethno-religious revivals has exploded in popularity. The fundamentals were it's greatest strength.
Those being, among others:
• Actual Ancestral Faith - We follow source-based ancestral faith to connect to our true roots to grow again. Our past is an essential part of who we are.
• Polytheism - As our Ancestors, we unapologetically believe in multiple divinities at the highest levels. There is no "one" we have many Gods.
• Pluralism - Just as there are many Gods, Spirits & folks, so too are there many pantheons. Pluralism shows respect & accounts for differences in divinity/experience across different faiths. We don't say "your Gods are secretly my Gods."
• Spiritual Sovereignty - We reject foreign influence/dominion within our revivals. Something foreign has no place dictating our ways, from our Gods.
• Anti-Axiality - Axiality undermined traditions 37,000 years old. Incorporating that into our revivals will destroy us from within, as it did before. | 100 |

| 19 |  Why call a polytheist godless? (Pt. 2)
To understand why people call polytheists godless, you have to look at the monotheistic lens. Within that framework, there is only one room in the house of the divine. If you aren’t standing in that specific room, you aren’t in the house at all. It’s a supremacist worldview that places “Them” over “Everyone else.” By labeling anyone outside of their doctrine, their in-club, as godless, they weren't describing our beliefs, but were delegitimizing them. It began a political tool to enforce exclusivity and strip away the moral standing of those who held to traditional and ancestral, beliefs.
When your world is filled with gods, landwights, and ancestors, with an understanding of the cosmological hierarchy of powers, you are neither empty nor godless, but surrounded. We were never godless; we are simply living in a bigger house, a much larger, and more populated cosmos than their theology allows for.
It’s time to recognize this for what it was: for the targeted propaganda is still at work today.

Godless is a word often thrown at Heathens, yet it doesn’t take more than a quick look at history to see the contradiction. How can a group be "godless" when their entire worldview is defined by devotion to a pantheon of powers?
The truth?
The label isn't about our lack of gods, but about someone else’s narrow definition of "God" (with a capital G).
Historically, this label wasn't a factual observation; it was a rhetorical weapon. A way for a singular, exclusive theology to categorize anyone outside its borders as nonexistent or inherently flawed. In a world of rigid labels, understanding why we were categorized this way is the first step toward reclaiming our own narrative and speaking with clarity about our path.
We need to stop accepting the terminology of those who sought to erase us.
