⭐️THE SUN⭐️ ✨This medium sized star measures 1,392,000 km across-109 times the diameter of the Earth. ✨Even though the sun is made almost entirely of hydrogen and helium, the lightest gasses in the universe, it weights 2000 trillion trillion tonnes- about 300,000 times as much as the Earth. ✨The sun's interior is heated by nuclear reactions to temperature of 15 million degree C. ✨The visible surface layer of the sun is called photosphere. This sea of boiling gas sends out the light and heat we see and feel on the Earth. ✨Flames called spicules dart through a thin layer above the photosphere called the chromosphere. ✨Above the chromosphere is the sun's halo-like corona. ✨The heat the sun's interior erupts on the surface in patches called granules, and gigantic arcs of hot gasses called solar prominences. ✨The sun gets hot because it is so big that the pressure in its core is tremendous- enough to force the nuclei of hydrogen atoms to fuse(join together) to make helium atoms. This nuclear fusion reaction is like a gigantic nuclear bomb and it releases huge amounts of energy. ✨Half way between its core and its surface, the sun is as dense as water. Closer to the surface, it becomes as dense as air. ✨Nuclear fusion reactions in the Sun's core converts five million tones of gas in to energy every second, but the energy takes ten million years to reach the surface. ✨The temperature of the sun's surface is 6000 degree C. Each cubic centimeter burns with the brightness of 250,000 candles. @LAQMC

🌟Microwave Background🌟 ✨The faint 'echoes' of the big bang have been detected in the form of cosmic microwave background radiation that pervades the whole universe. ✨Background radiation shows that the temperature of the big bang has now cooled to about 2.7 degree C above the absolute zero. ✨American radio engineers Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson discovered the microwave background in 1965, while trying to find the source of radio 'noise' that was interfering with communications. ✨At one time they thought pigeon dropping on their antennae might be causing the interference, but after a thorough cleaning the noise remained. ✨Eventually they determined that the source of the noise was located beyond the Milky Way Galaxy, and that the signal appeared to be coming from all directions. ✨Us physicist George Gamow predicted the existence of microwave background radiation in 1947, although he believed it would be slightly warmer at around 10 degree above absolute zero. ✨In 1993, the first images of this radiation were produced by the Cosmic Background Explorer(COBE) space craft. ✨The COBE images showed that the radiation was uniform to within one part in a thousand throughout the Universe, with minute ripples showing areas that were frictionally warmer or cooler. ✨A subsequent survey by instruments aboard the WMAP satellite has provided a more accurate picture that shows how the distribution of temperature fluctuations in the background radiation exactly mirrors the large scale structure if the universe. ✨Slightly cooler regions were denser and contained that the matter that eventually condensed in to the filaments of galaxies, while slightly warmer regions become empty voids. ✨The image of the microwave background was obtained by COBE spacecraft. It shows the minute variations in temperature(pink=warmer, blue=cooler) that were predicted by Big Bang theorists. @LAQMC

⭐️Facts about Einstein⭐️ ✨The great scientist, Albert Enstain(1879-1955), is known for uncovering the two theories of relativity. ✨Special relativity shows that all measurements are relative, including time and speed. In other words, time and speed depend on where they are measured. ✨The fastest thing in the universe, light, always travels at the same speed, no matter where you are or how fast you are going. Nothing can travel faster than light. ✨Special relativity shows that as things travel faster, they seemed to become short and heavier. ✨The theory of General Relativity include the idea of special relativity, but also describes how gravity works. ✨General relativity predicts that light rays from stars will be bent by the gravitational pull of stars they pass. ✨Gravity bends light rays simply by stretching space (and time). ✨Einstein overturned the idea that time is the same everywhere. He has the first to show that time is relative. ✨Time is not fixed but depends entirely on how you measure it and you can only measure it relative to something else. ✨Einstein's theory of general relativity was proved right in 1919, when light rays from a distant star just grazing the sun were measured during an eclipse and shown to be bent. @LAQMC
