Please find below for guidance on how much Thermomix can hold.
Refer the video for visual guidance too. Thank you ☺️
1. Chicken 🐓 - whole chicken (regular size) - up to 1.6kg for one cooking.
2. Meats 🥩- beef/lamb/mutton - up to 1.6kg. However if you use blade cover either for slow cooking or regular cooking, you might want to reduce the amount. Recommended weight with the blade cover on is 800-900g.
3. Flour 🫓🍞- 500g each time
- This would yield the best kneaded dough. There are some people who tried 700g-1kg flour but it’s not recommended as it would affect the auto-kneading process results.
- Since Thermomix just takes 3-5 mins in average to knead dough, my best advice is to do 500g but for a few rounds to get the desired amount of dough you want to knead.
Eg : 1500g dough needs 3x of kneading with Thermomix. Overall time : around 10-15mins in total.
4. Rice 🍚🌾(beras).
350g in simmering basket.
500g in thermomix bowl.
Tips : You dont need to weigh the rice everytime you want to cook it. Just use Thermomix Measuring Cup (MC) to scoop the rice as 1 MC = 100g.
5. Rice noodle (bihun) - Around 380g - 400g in one cooking.
- Most recipes would ask for 350g, but you can always add up to 400g, provided you make sure the water is sufficient to the amount of rice noodle added.
Tips : 350g bihun = 500g water (this depends on individual recipes too)
For Kueh Teow though you can add upp to 500g.
6. Spaghetti/pasta 🍝 - 500g each time.
- Make sure the water is sufficient (1.5l - 2l)!
7. Onion Peeling (Kupas Bawang) - This is the most frequently asked too. You can peel as much as 450g of onions all at once with Thermomix. Imagine bila rewang and you need to peel lots of onions at a time. Just make use of Thermomix to help you peel okay?
Note : Just make sure the water is enough to cover the onions, if you decided to only peel some of it (minimum is 100g).
8. Ketupat nasi / nasi impit - for large packs, recommended is 3 packs sekali masak. But for the mini packs, you can boil up to 12 packs all at once.
9. Masak air (boil water). Please use the kettle mode for this as it’s easier. The highest temperature in this mode is 100c - and it’s recommended temperature when you want to boil water. Don’t go over it okay if you are doing it manually.
Note : The max level is 1800ml and the minimum is 100ml.
10. Pes cili - chilli paste - The max recommended weight untuk cili kering is 300g. Recommended amount ni adalah cili kering yang belum direbus & dikisar. Bila dah rebus dah kisar, you’ll be able to get around 800-900g chilli paste.
11. Teh tarik kalau ikut resipi cookidoo, hanya guna 1000g air. Just in case you nak tambah the amount (kena tambah juga bahan lain eg susu pekat, tea etc), the recommended amount is 1500g sahaja. More than that, not advisable since we need Thermomix to ‘tarik’ our teh ☺️ and it needs space too.
12. Mi Kuning (yellow noodles). Boleh masak 1 pack 500g sekaligus. Kuew Teow pun sama boleh masak 500g sekali jalan.
13. Sambal - in case nak masak sambal banyak2, boleh buat from scratch dengan 300g cili kering, atau letak 800g cili boh/pes cili. After dah blend sekali dengan bawang2, masukkan minyak dan bahan2 berkaitan, you boleh dapat 2.2l sambal. Penuh satu bowl thermomix. Sangat banyak ok? ☺️

1. Marinate the chicken with salt and turmeric. Fry until lightly golden and set aside. I used airfryer 200c - 30min.
2. Add the following into the Thermomix bowl:
* Onion
* Shallots
* Garlic
* Red chillies
* Bird’s eye chillies
* Ginger
Chop 10 sec / Speed 5. Repeat once if needed.
3. Scrape down the sides of the bowl.
4. Add the cookinv oil.
Sauté 10 min / 120°C / Speed 0.5.
5. Add:
* Sweet soy sauce
* Oyster sauce
* Chicken curry powder
* Seasoning powder
* Curry leaves
* Bay leaves & water
Cook 5 min / 120°C / Reverse / Speed Spoon.
6. Add the fried chicken.
Cook 3 min / Varoma / Reverse / Speed Spoon.
7. Garnish with fried shallots and sliced chillies.

* 10- 12 pieces chicken, marinated with salt and turmeric, then half-fried
* 70g oil
* 2 large onion
* 10 cloves garlic
* 3 large red chillies, deseeded
* 6–7 bird’s eye chillies (adjust to taste)
* 1-inch ginger
* 7-8 tbsp sweet soy sauce
* 2 tbsp oyster sauce
* 1 tbsp chicken curry powder
* 1 tsp seasoning powder
* Curry leaves
* 2–3 bay leaves
