📘From procrastination to discipline beyond perfection:
📖You may procrastinate a lot. Probably it has become a habit to say not now to almost everything.
You might have spent a lot of time reading, researching on how to overcome procrastination all the while knowing that, all this was another way to not do what I was supposed to do. Or you're still struggling with the problem.
In many of my attempts, one effective way of overcoming procrastination, I found has been to think of consequences of action and inaction.
Then think about to whom is your inaction benefiting? NO ONE.
Then think about to whom is your action benefiting? YOU.
Who is supposed to live your life? YOU.
Keep repeating these words to yourself whenever you think you are going to skip on doing a task no matter how small it may be.
From my take, I guess it depends on each person of how they schedule and manage their life organizedly.
Suppose you are preparing for a competitive exam and you have only 3 months left for preparation. You keep thinking to start preparation from next day. But that next day never comes. You think you have enough time for preparation and you can start preparation after few days. Again, after the few days, you think the same. This is how procrastination starts.
Procrastination starts when we take our previous time for granted and show over confidence for completing the task by avoiding it always. So the thing that we're captivated in and love doing over and over again is called discipline which is to your own fixed schedule for everything and make sure whatever you do bears fruit.
There must've been moments that we found it difficult to stay focused on something for a long period of time & some can be at their breaking point by what they have at hand so they're supposed to break their daily works down into smaller parts and focus on one part at a time depending on their time, so the thing that works for you may not do the trick for others.
And some could be perfectionists to make sure that what they do is perfect or won't get under fire i mean criticized by others negative points. On the other hand we can't actually call the continuous term of discipline perfectionism it depends on how we understand it, I agree on one point that nothing can be fully achievable & imperfect, but at least we can do great things with what we have in a perfect way.
