Usually, when we eat fruits such as mangoes, we can plant their seed or stone in the soil and a new plant grows. In other words, the fruit gives rise to a new plant through its seed or a part of it. Banana plants and coconut trees are different. They are commonly propagated from the suckers or shoots of the parent plant, or through other parts of the original plant. Because of this, there is a belief that they came to be regarded as symbols of completeness and continuity, leading to the tradition of offering the whole fruit to God. 🌿 Our ancestors understood the relationship between nature, life and spirituality at a remarkably deep level. In astrology, there is a concept called Digbala. According to the direction, planets gain particular strength when placed in specific houses. However, under certain conditions, planets can lose their Digbala. One of the reasons for the cancellation of Digbala in a horoscope is planetary conjunction (Yuti). How does this happen? Sun & Mars: It is true that the Sun and Mars gain Digbala in the 10th house. However, when Sun + Mars are together in the 10th house, both lose their Digbala. This means the native may experience significant difficulties during the Sun or Mars Dasha. In a woman's horoscope, Mars Dasha could also lead to conflicts with her husband. Similarly, Jupiter and Mercury have Digbala in the Lagna (1st house). But when Jupiter + Mercury are together in the Lagna, both become weakened and lose their Digbala. The reason is that Jupiter represents the Macro and Mercury represents the Micro. Venus & Moon gain Digbala in the 4th house. However, when Venus + Moon are together in the 4th house, both lose their Digbala. In a woman's horoscope, Venus + Moon in the 4th house could indicate the possibility of conditions such as uterine fibroids and excessive expenditure. There are also conditions where Digbala is not completely cancelled but becomes weak. Ketu represents shrinking or reduction. Therefore, when Venus + Ketu or Moon + Ketu are placed in the 4th house, the Digbala of Venus or Moon becomes weak. This could indicate reduced decision-making ability. There are also special conditions. For example, if the 4th lord is placed in the nakshatra of Venus or Moon, and Venus or Moon is conjunct Ketu in any house, this too is considered an indication of weak Digbala. When Sun or Mars is placed in the 4th house, their Digbala becomes zero. Similarly, if the 4th lord is placed in the nakshatra of the Sun or Mars, then even if Venus or Moon are placed in the 4th house, they do not receive Digbala. The Divine Family When the Mahabharata war ended, Dwarka was flourishing in all its glory. One day, Sri Krishna’s eldest son, Pradyumna, went into the forest for hunting. There, a magical demon deceived him and unleashed a mystical weapon that took his life. When Pradyumna’s lifeless body was brought to Dwarka, Rukmini and Satyabhama wept bitterly. The entire city was plunged into grief. Yet the most astonishing thing was that the all-powerful Sri Krishna stood silently, with a deep mystery in his eyes. Meanwhile, Yama’s messengers took Pradyumna’s soul to Yama’s court, bound in golden chains. The moment Pradyumna stood before Yama, the ground of Yamaloka began to tremble. According to Yama’s records and Chitragupta’s accounts, Pradyumna still had hundreds of years of life remaining. Yet, due to the workings of the wheel of time, he had arrived in Yamaloka before his destined time. Yama immediately said to his messengers, “Fools! Whom have you brought here? He is the son of the Lord of Dwarka. I have no authority to pass judgment on his deeds.” At that moment, a terrifying sound echoed through the gates of Yamaloka. The sound of the Panchajanya, Sri Krishna’s conch, reverberated through the realm of death. Sri Krishna entered Yamaloka with his brother Balarama. Yama immediately descended from his throne and fell at Krishna’s feet. “O Lord! You are the master of the universe. Why have you come here, to Yamaloka?” Krishna’s eyes were red with anger. “Yama! My son still has some of his lifespan remaining. Under what law did your messengers bring his soul here? If you do not return Pradyumna’s soul immediately, I will destroy this entire Yamaloka and bring an end to this wheel of time.” Yama trembled and replied with folded hands: “Lord, remain calm. The law of death was not created by me; it was created by You. The untimely death of any living being occurs because of destiny—the consequences of karma from a previous birth. The same has happened in your son’s case.” Yama then revealed a secret that even Balarama found astonishing. “O Narayana! In his previous birth, Pradyumna was Kamadeva. He disturbed Lord Shiva’s meditation and was reduced to ashes by Mahadeva’s third eye. At that time, Kamadeva’s subtle body remained indebted to Time. To settle that debt, his soul had to come to Yamaloka for a few hours so that the old curse could be completely dissolved.” Yama continued: “Lord, I am merely a humble guardian of the system created by You. Your son’s curse has now been lifted. You may take him back with honour.” Hearing this, Sri Krishna smiled. He blessed Yama and restored Pradyumna’s soul to his divine body. Pradyumna opened his eyes and sat up as though awakening from a deep sleep. When Sri Krishna returned to Dwarka with his son alive, Rukmini’s tears of sorrow turned into tears of joy. The entire city celebrated. The story reveals the workings of karma and time—and how even the Supreme Lord accepted the suffering that came upon His own family.
