FEDERAL INVESTIGATION INTO ILHAN OMAR EXPANDS AS AUTHORITIES REPORTEDLY SEIZE PHONE, PASSPORT AND DNA SAMPLE
Federal investigators are reportedly examining Rep. Ilhan Omar’s immigration history following a raid on her Washington, D.C., home. Authorities allegedly seized her phone and personal passport, obtained a DNA sample and issued more than a dozen subpoenas to family members. Her sister also reportedly spoke voluntarily with investigators last week. A separate financial probe and questions about Omar’s age when she became a U.S. citizen in 2000 have added to the scrutiny. Omar denies wrongdoing, and her attorneys say there is no legitimate basis to suggest she violated citizenship laws.
