A post-mortem revealed she had over 70 injuries, including broken bones, burns, and brain damage, which experts said resulted from prolonged abuse. Sara's father, Urfan Sharif, her stepmother, Beinash Batool, and her uncle, Faisal Malik, fled to Pakistan shortly after her death. They were later extradited to the UK and charged with murder. During the trial, Urfan Sharif admitted to hitting Sara but claimed it was not intended to kill her. Despite their denials, on December 11, 2024, Sharif and Batool were convicted of murder, while Malik was found guilty of causing or allowing Sara’s death.

Israeli occupation forces enter Syria for the first time since 1973 in order to siege land after the Assad regime was toppled.

On August 21, 2013 rockets filled with sarin gas, a highly lethal nerve agent, were fired into rebel-held areas of Eastern Ghouta and Western Ghouta, near Damascus by forces of Bashar al-Assad. The attack resulted in the deaths of an estimated 1,400 people, many of whom were civilians, including children. Thousands more suffered severe injuries and symptoms consistent with chemical poisoning.

Syrian resistance forces entered the Sednaya Prison, also known as the "Human Slaughterhouse",and released men, women and children who were being detained by the Assad regime. Hundreds of prisoners were tortured to the point they forgot their own identities. Women were also held captive where they were abused physically and s*xually, children were also kept in the same cells. Upon being freed by Syrian resistance fighters, the women are in disbelief, they don't know where to go.

Muhammad has become the UK’s most popular baby name for boys for the first time, new data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) has revealed. The name has been among the top 10 names for baby boys since 2016, but has now overtaken the previous favourite, Noah. Oliver was third in the 2023 rankings. Three variant spellings of the Arabic name Muhammad made the list of the top 100 baby boys’ names in England and Wales in previous years, but this is the first year that just one spelling of the name has managed to top the list. In 2023 there were 4,661 Muhammads born across England and Wales, up from 4,177 in 2022, while Mohammed came in 28th with 1,601 and Mohammad came 68th with 835. The data shows that Muhammad was the most popular boys’ name in four out of nine regions in England and 63rd most popular in Wales.

Noussair Mazraoui told his team-mates he was not prepared to wear the outfit, citing his faith as the reason. The team then decided that no players would wear the tracksuit so that Mazraoui would not be the only one seen publicly to be refusing to wear it.

A 10 year-old Palestinian girl was shot in the chest by Israeli occupation forces while she was trying to cross an Israeli checkpoint in North Gaza. The girl, Rawan is still alive but many other children have been directly targeted by Israeli war criminals.
