Projects That Shut Down Recently Eight crypto projects have announced shutdowns since August, and not one of them was hacked.
Projects That Shut Down Recently Eight crypto projects have announced shutdowns since August, and not one of them was hacked. They closed because running them cost more than they earned. The list covers every layer of the market. Exchanges are leaving: BitMart ended trading after nine years and CoinEx closes on December 22. L2s are folding as well. Blast once held $2B+ and Abstract onboarded 400K users, yet both are shutting their chains. The apps went first: the Printr launchpad, the Trepa prediction market, Flash Trade perps and Step App, one of the last move-to-earn survivors. If you still have funds on any of these, check the deadlines. Blast's standard interface closes on October 26. On Abstract, anything not bridged by December 15 becomes inaccessible. Senators with at Least $100K Invested in DCD Ten US senators hold at least $100K each in DCD, about $6.8M combined, according to Forbes. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) leads with $2.1M, followed by Alan Armstrong (R-OK) at $1.8M and Ron Wyden (D-OR) at $1.3M. Those three account for more than 75% of the total. The list is bipartisan: six Republicans and four Democrats. The Democrats hold more by value (~$3.8M vs ~$2.9M), mostly because of Whitehouse and Wyden. It comes as Congress continues to debate crypto rules, after the CLARITY Act failed cloture last month. Senate disclosures report value ranges rather than exact figures, so these numbers are minimums, not precise holdings. Networks by RWA Net Flows in the Last 30 Days Ethereum lost $618M in RWA over the past month, almost as much as the seven growing networks added combined ($670M). The money isn't leaving tokenization. It's moving to other chains. Stellar took the most at +$300M, more than BNB Chain (+$114M) and Solana (+$109M) together. Monad (+$47M), XRP (+$40M), Polygon (+$35M) and Arbitrum (+$25M) round out the gainers. Avalanche (-$93M) and Mantle (-$49M) joined Ethereum on the losing side. It continues the trend from last month: Ethereum still holds the largest share of RWA, but new issuance increasingly goes to cheaper chains where funds and payments companies are already building. OKX Raises at a $25B Valuation OKX has raised new funding at a $25B valuation. Circle, Ripple, Standard Chartered's SC Ventures and the hedge fund Qube Research & Technologies all came in. The amount wasn't disclosed, but it extends the March round, when NYSE parent ICE put $200M into OKX at the same valuation. OKB jumped 10%+ on the news, breaking above $140. Circle and Ripple are direct rivals in stablecoins, and both just bought into the same exchange. Two weeks ago it ran the other way: Binance invested $100M in Circle to lock in USDC distribution. 🔗 bloomberg.com/news/articles/2026-10-06/crypto-exchange-okx-raises-at-25-billion-from-stanchart-circle Top 7 Perks | Variational Points +12% | Nado Private Invite | Kolo Free Card Issuance | $20 in KAST Points

Spiko Raises $90M as Its Tokenized Cash Funds Hit $2.7B Spiko, the Paris and London-based issuer of tokenized money market funds, has raised a $90M Series B led by NEA, with Index Ventures, Bpifrance, Speedinvest and Wintermute Ventures participating. Former Bundesbank president Axel Weber joined as an angel. Total funding now stands at $120M. Spiko manages $2.7B across funds in euros, dollars, sterling and Swiss francs, used by 10,000+ businesses and individuals in 25+ jurisdictions. Spiko says its tokenized cash-fund range is now larger than BlackRock's and Franklin Templeton's, per RWA.xyz data. The funds are regulated, issued on public blockchains and programmable: a company can set rules to move spare cash into a fund automatically while keeping enough on hand for payroll. 🔗 theblock.co/news/business/2026-10-06-spiko-raises-90-million-to-expand-tokenized-cash-funds-across-markets-417774 Top 7 Perks | Variational Points +12% | Nado Private Invite | Kolo Free Card Issuance | $20 in KAST Points

Potential Token Launches in Q4 The biggest names here are Polymarket ($2.28B raised), Base and MetaMask. All three have said a token is planned or being explored, and any of them would mean one of the largest airdrops ever, given how many people already use them. The middle of the list is trading infrastructure with live products: Variational has already published a 32% genesis drop, while Extended, Jumper and Multipli all run points programs. For most of them the question is when, not if. It's a watchlist, not a calendar. Nothing is confirmed for Q4, and September's launches already trade 37% below their peak. Top 10 Protocols by Holder Revenue in 30 Days Roughly $176.9M returned to holders over the past month, and Hyperliquid just pulled further ahead: • Hyperliquid - $72.4M • Pump.Fun - $26.5M • Aerodrome - $15.1M • StonkFun - $14.8M • Pons - $14.7M • Uniswap - $13.0M • BONK.fun - $5.50M • Sky - $5.42M • Raydium - $4.78M • Pancakeswap - $4.71M Hyperliquid alone is up from $55.3M last month to $72.4M now - a 31% jump in 30 days, and it's not close to second place. One perp DEX returns more to holders than the other nine protocols on this list combined. Three of the top five - Pump.Fun, StonkFun, Pons - are launchpad-style venues, not DEXs or lending markets. That's half the list built on people launching tokens, not trading them. The "fun" model isn't a meme anymore, it's a revenue category of its own. Uniswap at $13.0M still trails Aerodrome, a chain-specific DEX a fraction of its size. Scale doesn't translate to holder payouts the way it used to - volume without a distribution mechanism just sits there. Top 10 Greatest Acquisitions of All Time The best deals in tech history weren't the biggest ones, they were the cheapest. Google bought Android in 2005 for $50M, and it's now valued at $112B, a ~2,240x return. Next comes Booking at ~345x, which Priceline bought for $135M, and Next at ~294x, the $429M deal that brought Steve Jobs back to Apple. Google appears four times on the list, with DoubleClick, YouTube, Android and Maps, and those four deals cost it under $5B combined for an estimated $480B+ in value today. Meta's $1B Instagram purchase, mocked as overpriced in 2012, is now worth an estimated $175B. The exception is Marvel. At $4.2B it was the most expensive deal on the list, and at ~3x it's the weakest return, even though it built the biggest film franchise ever. A great deal is mostly about the price. Plume Launches nBND: A Vault Backed by Fidelity's Bond ETF Plume has launched nBND, the first tokenized vault that holds Fidelity Total Bond ETF (FBND) as its primary reserve asset. FBND is actively managed and mixes investment-grade, high-yield and emerging-market debt, so it goes well beyond the short-term Treasuries that dominate onchain fixed income today. That's the gap Plume is targeting. Tokenized Treasuries grew from $12B to $15B between April and June, but they're a sliver of a $100T+ global bond market. CEO Chris Yin says allocators now want longer duration and active management, the same tools they use offchain. Fidelity's head of digital asset management called the collaboration a way to give a broader set of investors access, with programmable portfolios and new collateral uses. It's Plume's second TradFi-backed vault in two weeks, after nPRIME brought Figure's home loan yield onchain. 🔗 x.com/plumenetwork/status/2107003244719309273 Top 7 Perks | Variational Points +12% | Nado Private Invite | Kolo Free Card Issuance | $20 in KAST Points

Harvard Stock Portfolio Harvard's endowment disclosed $4.26B in US-listed stocks in its latest 13F filing, and more than half of it is one company: SpaceX, at $2.2B (51.5%). Harvard held the shares while SpaceX was private, so the position only appeared in filings after the June IPO. The rest of the portfolio is mostly an AI bet. TSMC ($340M), Cerebras ($250M), Nvidia and Broadcom together make up ~20% of it, and Amazon, Alphabet, Microsoft and Meta add another 15%. The only non-tech hedge in the top ten is $170M in a gold ETF. For context, this isn't Harvard's whole endowment. The 13F covers only US public stocks, about 7% of the ~$57B fund. The week builds steadily toward the Friday peak: $ENA on Oct 5, $JTO on Oct 7, $STABLE on Oct 8, $ADI on Oct 9, then $RAIN on Oct 10 — five consecutive days of named cliff unlocks before $APT closes on Oct 11. No relief window anywhere. The real pressure points are $ADI and $RAIN landing back-to-back on Oct 9–10, combining for $499M in 48 hours. $ENA (1.15%) and $JTO (1.13%) are modest in % terms but add to the front-loaded pressure early in the week. Top 10 Crypto Cards by Volume in September 2026 Card volume is the total real-world spending processed through crypto debit and prepaid cards in 30 days. Not DeFi, not onchain transfers: actual consumer purchases. • RedotPay – $404.8M (+3.2%) • EtherFi – $130.8M (+21.7%) • KAST – $114.4M (+21.9%) • Karta – $50.1M (+22.2%) • Wirex One – $48.0M (+37.4%) • Plasma One – $25.7M (+31.7%) • Kolo – $19.7M (+14.5%) • Karta.io – $16.7M (+11.4%) • Tria – $16.6M (+21.7%) • Coca – $9.3M (+18.3%) Every single card in the top 10 posted positive growth — the weakest number on the board is RedotPay's +3.2%, and that's the leader by volume at $404.8M. The real movers are Wirex One (+37.4%) and Plasma One (+31.7%) — both growing at more than 3x the rate of the market leader. RedotPay's dominance is worth noting: at $404.8M it's 3x larger than #2 EtherFi, yet growing the slowest. The gap at the top is massive, but the challengers are closing it faster than the numbers suggest. Top Protocols by Revenue in September The top ten protocols kept ~$981M in revenue last month, and Tether and Circle took 73% of it: • Tether – $505M • Circle – $207M • Hyperliquid – $55.9M • Pump – $53.1M • GMGN – $40.3M • Fomo – $32.5M • Stonk Fun – $27.4M • Pons – $23.4M • Axiom – $18.4M • Grayscale – $17.8M Put this next to yesterday's fees chart and you can see who keeps what they collect. Uniswap brought in $206M in fees, yet it's missing here entirely, because nearly all of it goes to liquidity providers. Polymarket ($87.3M in fees) is missing too. Pons collected $140M but kept only $23.4M. Hyperliquid kept about three-quarters of its $73M, the highest share of any trading venue. Below the stablecoins, revenue is almost all trading: perps, memecoin launchpads and trading bots. $10 Invested in Nvidia: Then & Now $10 put into Nvidia at its 1999 IPO would be worth ~$88,400 today, a return of about 883,900%. The road there wasn't smooth. Anyone who sold at those lows would never have seen the upside. Most of the money arrived late. From 1999 to 2022, $10 grew to ~$5,800. Then AI demand hit, and the next three years added another ~$82,000. That's 93% of today's value earned in the last 7% of the holding period. dApp Economic Activity Hits a New High in 2026 dApp fees reached $1.44B in September, the best month of the year, beating January's $1.14B. Q3 as a whole came in at $3.33B, up 38.8% from Q2. The shape of the year matters here. Activity fell steadily from January through April, bottoming at $776M, then went flat through the summer. In Q3 it turned sharply: July $855M, August $1.03B, September $1.44B. September alone made up 43% of the quarter's fees. Bitcoin had its second-best Q3 on record (+43.5%), Hyperliquid broke new highs, and Pons and Pump Fun printed record launchpad months. Top 10 Protocols by Fees in the Last 30 Days The top ten protocols collected ~$1.53B in fees over the past month, and two stablecoin issuers took 46% of it: • Tether – $503M • Circle – $207M • Uniswap – $206M • Pump Fun – $164M • Pons – $140M • Polymarket – $87.3M • Hyperliquid – $73M • Lido – $50.7M • GMGN – $49.8M • Canton – $48.9M Tether and Circle earn by holding Treasuries against the dollars people park in USDT and USDC. They don't need traders, only deposits and interest rates, and the Fed's hike this month helps them. Fees aren't the same as revenue. Uniswap collects $206M, but most of it goes to liquidity providers, not the protocol. Hyperliquid ranks only #7 here, yet it leads crypto by revenue this year because it keeps almost everything it collects and sends ~99% to buybacks. Pons is the outlier. It's a Robinhood Chain launchpad worth less than $500M, and it collected $140M in 30 days, more than Polymarket and Hyperliquid. That usually means a peak month, not a steady run-rate.
