VOLATILITY ALERT 🚨 The aussie-US dollar (AUDUSD) faces RBA uncertainty as growth concerns build.
Will the RBA hike next week?
Markets are largely pricing in a rate hike at the RBA's upcoming meeting, as persistent inflation keeps policymakers focused on upside price risks. What's shaping the outlook:
✔️ Aug Unemployment Rate rose to 4.6% from 4.5%. Full-time employment fell even as total jobs increased, an early sign the labour market is cooling.
✔️ Governor Bullock said the board must decide whether rates are restrictive enough to bring inflation back to target. She kept a hawkish tone and warned that inflation risks remain skewed to the upside.
✔️ Treasurer Chalmers flagged longer-term risks from an aging population and slowing population growth, which could also weigh on government finances.
With the RBA decision and US PCE inflation data both due next week, AUDUSD could see volatility as expectations for the RBA and the Fed shift.

EURUSD remains under pressure as a more hawkish Fed and higher US interest rates continue to support demand for the dollar.
