Applications are open for the Festival Curation of transmediale 2028.
Since 2025 transmediale has invited a new curator for each edition, each bringing their own personality and position on the present moment in art and technology. We're interested in approaches that bring new questions to the field, grounded in critical reflection and political engagement.
The curator develops the concept and the programme for the edition. Open to one or more persons with previous curatorial experience.

in cooperation with Universität der Künste Berlin
transmediale and the Vilém Flusser archive at the Universität der Künste Berlin (UdK) present the 14th iteration of their residency collaboration. It will be awarded to one Berlin-based artist-researcher working in the fields of digital art and moving image practices, design, sound, and media theory.
The 2027 residency programme extends transmediale’s moment of reflection and future-imagining of its 40th anniversary across the year and asks how a network can stay legible to itself while the structures surrounding it are breaking down.
