Best description I've ever seen for the Palestinian Authority:
"The increasing confrontations and tensions with the PA, which many on the ground describe as subcontractors for the Israeli occupation, are casting a shadow of fear and uncertainty over stability in the occupied West Bank."

Now, God tells us that “We made those who had been oppressed succeed to both the east and the west of the land that We had blessed. Your Lord’s good promise to the Children of Israel was fulfilled, because of their patience, and We destroyed what Pharaoh and his people were making and what they were building.” (Quran 7:137) So God fulfilled His promise by getting the Israelite to the promised land, but for them to earn it they had to fight for it. So Moses said to them: “My people, go into the holy land which God has ordained for you– do not turn back or you will be the losers.’ They said, ‘Moses, there is a fearsome people in this land. We will not go there until they leave. If they leave, then we will enter.’ Yet two men whom God had blessed among those who were afraid said, ‘Go in to them through the gate and when you go in you will overcome them. If you are true believers, put your trust in God.’ They said, ‘Moses, we will never enter while they are still there, so you and your Lord go in and fight, and we will stay here.’ He said, ‘Lord, I have authority over no one except myself and my brother: judge between the two of us and these disobedient people.’" (Quran 5:21-25)
So what was the outcome? God said, ‘The land is forbidden to them. For forty years they will wander the earth aimlessly. Do not grieve over those who disobey.’” (Quran 5:26)
Fundamentally, according to the Abrahamic scriptures, the Jews have never achieved righteousness together to establish the covenant with God. “When Abraham’s Lord tested him with certain commandments, which he fulfilled, He said, ‘I will make you a leader of people.’ Abraham asked, ‘And will You make leaders from my descendants too?’ God answered, ‘My pledge does not hold for those who do evil.’” (2:124) Fundamentally, evil negates the pledge, and as God tells us: “We wrote in the Psalms, as We did in [earlier] Scripture: ‘My righteous servants will inherit the earth..’” (21:105)
Even if we look at Jerusalem today, the Jewish State tolerates annual Gay Pride parades in God’s holy city - and they are the only people in the entire region to do so. They are not righteous. What happened to their belief in what happened to the people of Sodom not far from Jerusalem, and why it occurred? God tells us “If God did not repel some people by means of others, many monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques, where God’s name is much invoked, would have been destroyed. God is sure to help those who help His cause– God is strong and mighty– those who, when We establish them in the land, keep up the prayer, pay the tax, command what is right, and forbid what is wrong: God controls the outcome of all events.” (22:40-41) And we know the other descendants of Abraham, the “great nation” would never tolerate such things in the consecrated city, and only for very biblical reasons.
We are to understand the people of Abraham God puts it: “People of the Book, why do you argue about Abraham (claiming him on your religion) when the Torah and the Gospels were not revealed until after his time? Do you not understand? You argue about some things of which you have some knowledge, but why do you argue about things of which you know nothing? God knows and you do not. Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian. He was godly and fully compliant (unlike Jews and Christians), never an idolater, and the people who are closest to him are those who truly follow his ways, this Prophet, and believers – God is close to believers.” (3:65-68)
(Please note this is a brief breakdown - there’s much more and many layers to add)

“Isn’t Israel the land of the Jews, promised to them?”
Nope (it was offered to them). In ancient times it was the land of Canaan. In the Tanakh (Genesis 12) we’re told: “The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you”…At that time the Canaanites were in the land. The Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the Lord, who had appeared to him.”
Now discussing this from a theological perspective: There are two ways of taking this: 1) The land was given to Abraham and his immediate children, not descendants, 2) All descendants, and the Israelites were not the only descendants of Abraham. Equally were the Ishmaelites and the children Abraham had with Keturah. Today, the latter make up the majority of Abraham’s descendants. If we were to take the second interpretation of “offspring”, not only would it imply the land is for all, but that God “will make you into a great nation” suggests via hindsight that God meant 1) the Ishmaelites (the children Abraham had with Keturah has mixed in with them now) as they make up the majority and hence the great nation, and 2) In Genesis 17, Elohim specifically describes Ishmael: “He will be the father of twelve rulers, and I will make him into a great nation.” So in summary, if we adopt the argument that Jews make, then the land is the descendants of Abraham, making him into a great nation and that great nation being the Ishmaelite's. As a historical fact, no Abrahamic nation has ever been greater than the Ishmaelite Empire led by the Prophet Muhammad that arose from the wilderness of Paran. The prophecy: “Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, you islands, and all who live in them. Let the wilderness and its towns raise their voices; let the settlements where Kedar (son of Ismael - see Genesis 25:13) lives rejoice. Let the people of Sela sing for joy; let them shout from the mountaintops. Let them give glory to the Lord and proclaim his praise in the islands. The Lord will march out like a champion, like a warrior he will stir up his zeal; with a shout he will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his enemies.” (Isaiah 42) The descendant overcame every empire in proximity - this had never been achieved by the Israelites, in fact they were repeatedly overcome and exiled. In a prayer of Habakkuk the Hebrew prophet: “God came from Teman, the Holy One from Mount Paran. His glory covered the heavens and his praise filled the earth. His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from his hand, where his power was hidden. Plague went before him; pestilence followed his steps. He stood, and shook the earth; he looked, and made the nations tremble.” (Habakkuk 3:3) Jesus warned the Jews that favour would be lost to them: “I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Matthew 8)
God later revealed: "Muhammad is the Messenger of God. Those who follow him are stern towards the (enemy) disbelievers and compassionate towards each other. You see them kneeling and prostrating, seeking God’s bounty and His good pleasure: on their faces they bear the marks of their prostrations. This is how they are pictured in the Torah and the Gospel: like a seed that puts forth its shoot, becomes strong, grows thick, and rises on its stem to the delight of its sowers. So God infuriates the (enemy) disbelievers through them; God promises forgiveness and a great reward to those who believe and do righteous deeds." (Quran 48:29)
