St.PETER before Jesus called him 😁

2025 was a year busy with many new biblical and archaeological discoveries Article from national geographic: https://www.nationalgeographic.com/history/article/these-2025-archaeological-discoveries-reshaped-what-we-know-about-the-bible Here's a summary: •The Holy Sepulchre Garden: Excavations beneath the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem revealed archeo-botanical evidence of ancient grains, grapes, and figs. These findings confirm the site was once a cultivated green space, matching the Gospel of John’s description of a garden at the site of Jesus’s burial. •The Spread of Early Christianity: Archaeologists uncovered a 1,400-year-old plaster cross in Abu Dhabi and a fifth-century "stern" mosaic in Turkey that regulated church entry. Additionally, ebony figurines found in the Negev Desert suggest that early Christian communities included individuals from as far as Ethiopia. These finds, along with a new digital map of Roman roads, provide a clearer picture of the rapid and diverse expansion of the faith. • The Siloam Pool Dating: New radiocarbon dating of the stone dam at the Siloam Pool, the site where the Gospel of John says Jesus healed a blind man, traces the structure back to 800 B.C. The research suggests the pool was part of a major civic response to climate upheaval in ancient Jerusalem. This dating provides a precise historical timeline for one of the New Testament’s most famous landmark locations. • AI Analysis of the Dead Sea Scrolls: Using a new AI model named "Enoch," researchers analyzed radiocarbon-dated manuscripts to predict the ages of the remaining Dead Sea Scrolls. The technology suggests that many of these biblical texts are significantly older than scholars previously believed. • The Ivory Trade of Kush: A multidisciplinary study of ivory artifacts from the Levant determined that the luxury material mentioned in the accounts of King Solomon originated in sub-Saharan Africa. The research identifies the Kingdom of Kush (modern-day Nubia) as the primary source of the ivory found in the Old Testament. This confirms the existence of sprawling, sophisticated trade networks that connected the biblical world to deep Africa. • The Egyptian Presence at Megiddo: Excavations at the ancient stronghold of Megiddo (Armageddon) revealed a massive layer of seventh-century B.C. Egyptian pottery. This provides the first tangible archaeological evidence that could support the biblical account of the fatal battle between King Josiah and Pharaoh Necho. It suggests an Egyptian military presence existed at the site exactly when the Bible claims the conflict occurred despite previous scholarly speculations. • The Palace of Esarhaddon: In Mosul, Iraq, archaeologists discovered a massive, 20-foot-tall stone lamassu (winged bull) in the palace of the Assyrian King Esarhaddon. Esarhaddon is a prominent figure in the Old Testament whose life story parallels the story of Joseph. The sheer scale of the find highlights the immense power of the Neo-Assyrian Empire described in the biblical text. • The Temple Mount Cuneiform: A 2,700-year-old piece of cuneiform script was discovered during sifting at Jerusalem’s Temple Mount. The text contains a stern demand from the King of Assyria to the King of Judah, insisting on the immediate payment of late tribute. This artifact serves as direct physical evidence of the vassal relationship between the two kingdoms as described in the Book of Kings.

If you are not lost, what do you want with a Saviour? Should the shepherd go after those who never went astray? Why should the woman sweep her house for the bits of money that were never out of her purse? No, the medicine is for the diseased; the quickening is for the dead; the pardon is for the guilty; liberation is for those who are bound: the opening of eyes is for those who are blind. How can the Saviour, and His death upon the cross, and the gospel of pardon, be accounted for, unless it be upon the supposition that men are guilty and worthy of condemnation? The sinner is the gospel's reason for existence. You, my friend, to whom this word now comes, if you are undeserving, ill-deserving, hell-deserving, you are the sort of man for whom the gospel is ordained, and arranged, and proclaimed. God justifieth the ungodly. All of grace, Charles Spurgeon

To anybody in medical school out there, from pre-med to internship ... Becoming a medical doctor is important, but it's not THAT important to the point where you lose yourself in the process. It's not worthy of losing your precious life. It's not worthy of losing your mental health. It's not worthy of coping with substance abuses. The expectations you have for yourself within or from family & social circle should not force you to believe otherwise. You matter before everything else. Stay safe. 🙏🏾 Dr.Haileselassie B.Admasu @debolteam
