🎉 Asian Grand Prix 2026 officially opened in Tashkent! On March 23, 2026, the official opening ceremony of the Asian Grand Prix, organized by the International Backgammon Federation, took place at the AXELON venue in Tashkent. The tournament brought together hundreds of players from around the world and marked the beginning of a new era in international backgammon 👑 Participants watched a video address from the President of the International Backgammon Federation, Umar Nazarovich Kremlev, who highlighted a new stage in the development of world backgammon and the significance of the Asian Grand Prix 🎬 The ceremony began with two intro videos dedicated to Asian Grand Prix 2026. The master of ceremonies then welcomed the guests and emphasized the historic importance of the tournament, the record prize fund of $500,000, and the international scale of the competition 💃 A bright highlight of the ceremony was the performance by the Charos dance group, creating a festive atmosphere and showcasing the cultural spirit of Uzbekistan 🏛 A welcome speech was delivered by Abdulaziz Akkulov, Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan Also attending the ceremony as honorary guests: • Avazjon Karimov — Deputy Minister of Sports • Ravshan Dastirov — Vice President of the International Belt Wrestling Federation 🌍 Athletes from more than 50 countries were presented during the ceremony, emphasizing the global scale of the tournament and the growing popularity of backgammon 🎶 After the national anthem of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a countdown and ceremonial gong strike officially declared the Asian Grand Prix 2026 open 🎙 The ceremony concluded with a welcome speech from Chief Arbiter Elena Polovina, who wished the participants fair competition and exciting matches The International Backgammon Federation congratulates all participants on the start of Asian Grand Prix 2026 and wishes beautiful games, great victories, and unforgettable emotions at one of the largest tournaments in the history of world backgammon!
