Repost from Catholic Arena

The most poorly organised papal event in 2,000 years of the papacy took place in Dublin
Instead of using the visit of Pope Francis to evangelise and get momentum for the church in Ireland, organisers completely misread the mood of the country and tried to use the visit as a cheap victory to relive the past
Instead of projecting humility and faith, they booked the Closing Mass in the Phoenix Park, which proved difficult to get to. Not only that, they failed to respond even remotely to a psychological warfare waged by the media to convince people not to go.
The Irish editions of Anglo
Newspapers warned people about the likelihood of dying from disease 'including measles, influenza, mumps and hepatitis'. Many carried warnings that makeshift morgues were being constructed because of the avalanche of dead bodies that would result from the huge crowds. Seriously, this was what happened.
To top it off, many actual Mass going Catholics were unable to get 'tickets' which were mostly online. All the while, anti Catholics were signing up for 5,000 tickets at a time, using names like 'Michael Jackson' and 'Santa Clause' and posting the screenshots to social media. This humiliation went completely unacknowledged in public by the (dis)organisers
The result was a complete demoralisation as every newspaper carried ariel photographs of a sparse crowd at the Phoenix Park, only weeks after the equally brutal demoralisation of the Abortion Referendum
To cap it all off, the Cardinal McCarrick story broke the same week
Seeing how well organised Pope Leo XIV's visits to Spain, France, Lebanon and elsewhere have been since only rubs salt into the wounds to this wasted opportunity
The pope's visit should have projected sincerity and humility, which they apparently tried to convey by driving him around in a Skoda, and should have tried to confront the deep anger in Irish society head on rather than completely ignoring it
Should a pope ever visit Ireland again, it should be a visit which reminds the Irish that they as a people have evangelised every corner of whole world and also brought schools and hospitals to those places in the name of Christ. It should remind them that their ancestors starved to death, were enslaved and brutally murdered rather than give up their faith.
And it should engage the youth and set aside time for an event specifically with them, which did not happen last time.
The absolute worst thing that they can do is try to relive the old videos of John Paul II visiting, as they attempted to do in 2018.
He said he made a video about everything he studied, and it was 25 hours long! So, he divided it into 3 parts: Does God exist? (7 hours long) The miracles of the Catholic Church (11 hours long) Refutation of the arguments that debunk Catholic miracles, about the crises he experienced during his conversion, and so on. He said the video script is about 300 pages long, and anyone who wants to access it can go to his Patreon page.
