American Fugitive in Russia

After twenty years of being wanted by the FBI, I've developed an annoying habit. Whenever the government tells me a story, I immediately start looking for the story behind the story. Experience will do that to you. Mark Twain supposedly said that if you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything. I have no idea whether he actually said it, but somebody should have. Governments have the opposite problem. Once they start telling one story while doing another, they spend years explaining why none of the odd parts are really odd at all.
