Trump: Biden 'doesn't know he's alive' Former President Donald Trump says US President Joe Biden doesn't know he's alive while asserting during a rally in South Bronx that he can make the people of New York happy. "It's really about the people and in this case, the people of New York City, New York State, we're going to make you very happy and Biden can't do it. He [Biden] doesn't know he's alive," Trump said. Trump and Biden recently agreed to debates on June 27 and September 10, but Biden rejected additional debates proposed by NBC News and Fox News in the coming months. The Trump campaign has been calling on Biden to agree to have a debate each month leading to the November 5 vote in the US presidential election. Furthermore, Trump said he would demand a drug test before a debate with Biden and that he declined the Biden team's offer to hold a "sit-down" debate. 👍 Boost us! | Subscribe to @geopolitics_live

Sy Hersh: US diplomacy needed to avoid Ukraine’s ‘overwhelming’ defeat US diplomatic efforts, which are withheld due to President Joe Biden's irrational views on Russia, could have resolved the Ukrainian conflict that Americans and their allies are now unable to win, Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist Seymour Hersh said. "America, in the years Biden has been in office, has spent $175 billion to fight a war that cannot and will not be won. It will only be resolved by diplomacy—if rationality prevails in Kiev and Washington," Hersh wrote in a Substack article. Otherwise, the "undertrained, understaffed, and poorly-equipped Ukrainian army faces an overwhelming defeat," he predicted. In addition, Hersh, citing a longtime senior US official said that the US intelligence community has been concerned about Biden’s views on Putin and Russia, which date back to his time serving in the Senate. However, some within the American intelligence community believe that the US bears its own share of responsibility for the conflict in Ukraine, Hersh added. "Putin and his predecessors in Moscow watched for three decades—since the reunification of Germany in 1990—as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) added member states that brought NATO to Russia’s doorstep," Hersh said. 👍 Boost us! | Subscribe to @geopolitics_live

US influence is slipping as Bahrain calls for Russia's help with Gaza Peace Summit On Thursday, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain said that for the first time, the Arab League is united in calling for an end to the war and Gaza and that a peace conference should be held. He said that Russia was the first country he asked to support the initiative, calling Moscow “the most influential country on the international stage.” The decision to pick Russia represented yet another thumb in the eye to the United States, which has long seen itself as the only country capable of mediating relations between Israel and Palestine. “What is extremely important from my perspective: they are turning to Russia to be a mediator in the end of this conflict,” Filmmaker and documentarian Regis Tremblay noted on Sputnik’s The Critical Hour. “What a statement the Arab League has made to their sugar daddy, the United States of America for all these years.” The United States and the West have played an oversized role in shaping the region for years, brokering deals with Egypt and Jordan to normalize relations with Israel but have made little progress since 1994. “[The Arab countries] realize that there has not been any progress. That this has been duplicitous and mendacious all these years. You’re talking 80 years now,” Tremblay explained. “And now turning to Russia as a mediator. For Russia, this is huge, not only for its international reputation and prestige but for its direct influence in the Middle East. Huge.” King Hamad also called for the normalization of relations with Iran and the Arab League, another sign of the US’ waning influence in the region. Hit the link to learn more

Gaza Pier was used to feed IDF before Palestinians, says journalist According to a journalist with sources on the ground in Gaza, the US-built pier that was constructed off the coast of Gaza ostensibly to bring in aid for hungry Palestinians was first used to bring in military equipment and then food, but the first batches of food went to Israeli Defense Force (IDF) soldiers and not the starving citizens of Gaza. Leila Hatoum was a guest on Sputnik’s Fault Lines, where she described the current situation with the controversial pier. “The first batch of trucks that came in, they had weapons, they didn’t have aid. There were a few trucks that came in that actually had some aid, but they didn’t go to the north [where hunger is worst in Gaza.] They went over to the [IDF] base near the Netzarim corridor to the American and Israeli soldiers,” Hatoum, who is the editor and chief for MENA Uncensored explained. “And there was some aid that when the Palestinians approached to take them from the trucks, they were shot at. This is what the US is doing and in their media, they’re trying to insinuate otherwise.” Hatoum also questioned the motivates behind the pier. “[Israel and the US] are not opening borders. They have stopped the airdrops and they’ve been fixating everything on that port. Why?” Hatoum asked. “What are they getting through that port? It’s heavily, heavily guarded by the Israeli and US militaries,” she added, noting that they have created an 8km by 3km area that no one is allowed to enter. Follow the link to find out more.

Nearly 3Mln people attend Raisi's farewell ceremony in his hometown of Mashhad About 3 million people have attended the farewell ceremony in Iran's Mashhad for late President Ebrahim Raisi, who died in a helicopter crash over the weekend along with a delegation involving Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and other officials, Mashhad mayor Mohammad Reza Ghalandar said. Raisi's body was buried earlier in the day in Mashhad, his hometown in northwestern Iran. He was laid to rest in the Imam Reza shrine containing the remains of Ali al-Rida, the eighth Imam of Shia Islam. Some of the 3 million people who attended the ceremony came to Mashhad from other cities and even other countries, such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Turkey, Ghalandar was quoted as saying by the IRNA news agency. On Sunday, the helicopter carrying Raisi and his delegation back from a visit to neighboring Azerbaijan crashed in Iran's northwest. 👍 Boost us! | Subscribe to @geopolitics_live

US launches comprehensive review of bilateral cooperation with Georgia The US is implementing a visa restriction policy on Georgian officials, and their families, who are responsible for facilitating passage of a foreign agents law, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a press release. "In response to these actions, the Department of State is implementing a new visa restriction policy for Georgia that will apply to individuals who are responsible for or complicit in undermining democracy in Georgia, as well as their family members," Blinken said. "This includes individuals responsible for suppressing civil society and freedom of peaceful assembly in Georgia through a campaign of violence or intimidation." The US is also launching a comprehensive review of bilateral cooperation with Georgia over the passing of a "foreign influence" law in the country, Blinken added in a statement. "I am also launching today a comprehensive review of bilateral cooperation between the US and Georgia. It remains our hope that Georgia’s leaders will reconsider the draft law and take steps to move forward with their nation’s democratic and Euro-Atlantic aspirations. As we review the relationship between our two countries, we will take into account Georgia’s actions in deciding our own," Blinken said. On Saturday, Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili vetoed the controversial foreign agents bill that had been adopted by the country's parliament. The parliament needs a simple majority to override the veto. 👍 Boost us! | Subscribe to @geopolitics_live

Right Technologies and the Right Kind of Protectionism, and Then There's the Wrong Kind Janet Yellen has called on the EU to join the US in efforts to restrict Beijing's export of its technologies, warning that an excess of cheap Chinese goods could threaten the survival of factories worldwide. So, China, being smart, read "Economics" by McConnell and Brue and thought: OK! We’ll make good quality products that are more functional than others. And we’ll optimize production to make these products cheaper than those of competitors. That’s great. Not great at all, said America. The US and its Western allies must respond with a "united front" to China's growing manufacturing power or risk their own industries, the Treasury Secretary said in her speech in Germany on Tuesday. But wait a minute, some tried to argue, aren't you also providing tax breaks and subsidies, just like China? Yellen also dismissed criticism from European allies that the extensive tax breaks and subsidies for clean manufacturing offered by the US represent a "turn towards American protectionism." The chief gynecologist of Europe and, simultaneously, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, stated that she would not join the US in imposing tariffs, adding that Brussels would adopt a different approach to Washington's "common tariffs." We want competition, we want to trade together, but we want it to be fair and by the rules, she told the Financial Times on Tuesday ahead of Yellen's speech. This raised one's eyebrows. Is it correct that von der Leyen just called the US cheaters? Follow us on Telegram

Houthis expand attacks on Israeli-linked ships onto Mediterranean sea Yemen's rebel Ansar Allah movement, also known as the Houthis, has started operations against Israeli-linked vessels in the Mediterranean Sea by attacking a ship earlier this week, Houthi leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi said. "The number of vessels and ships attacked since last October, including those linked with the Israeli enemy, the US and the UK, has reached 119," al-Houthi said on Yemeni television. This week, the Houthi forces conducted eight operations using 15 missiles and drones in the Red and Arabian Seas, the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean, including one attack in the Mediterranean Sea, the rebel leader said. Houthis vowed in November 2023 to attack any ships associated with Israel until it halts military actions in the Gaza Strip. The attacks prompted the US to form a multinational coalition, which includes the United Kingdom among others, to protect shipping in the area of the Red Sea, as well as to strike Houthi targets on the ground. 👍 Boost us! | Subscribe to @geopolitics_live

Breaking bad: Oregon conservatives seeking to secede from the woke state Fourteen conservative Oregon counties voted for steps to start negotiations on seceding from the liberal state and join neighboring conservative Idaho. The draft aims to move the Oregon border 200 miles to the west, so that several counties would lie within Idaho state lines. Those behind the effort claim that the move would allow residents to benefit from lower tax rates and to have their interests better represented at the legislative level. They also argue that the move westward would be a boon to conservative voters ostracized by left-wing authorities that push harmful ‘progressive’ policies. Oregon residents have seen a spike in crime, especially drug-related. Notably, locals blame liberal legislators for decriminalizing drug possession. State policymakers adopted a law in 2021 under which police would simply give out $100 fine tickets to addicts in place of criminal prosecutions. On top of that, the ticket would be cancelled if the detained underwent treatment and agreed to a health assessment. The move ultimately proved pointless, as drug users ignored over 95 percent of the tickets. Though not legislatively binding, the vote signals to state and federal representatives that residents support talks on being annexed by Idaho. Similar breakaway sentiments have been voiced in Texas, Illinois and Colorado. 👍 Boost us! | Subscribe to @geopolitics_live

West’s support for Srebrenica ‘genocide’ vote designed to distract from Gaza, divide rising global majority 💬 “This outcome was expected because of the immense pressure of the Western countries,” Professor Stevan Gajic, a political analyst and research associate at the Belgrade-based Institute of European Studies, told Sputnik, commenting on Thursday’s vote in the UN General Assembly to establish an international remembrance day commemorating the July 1995 violence in Srebrenica, Bosnia as a “genocide.” “The proposal comes at a very interesting moment. It comes at the moment when Western countries are supporting extermination of Gaza. And therefore they want to divert the anger of the Muslim countries and also to give an alibi to the Muslim countries who voted for the resolution…to somehow come clean in front of their people because they are not doing anything when it comes to Palestine. This is the main motive,” the academic said. 💬 “The motive is also to stir differences among the countries of the emerging world majority, which is struggling and which is fighting and defeating Western hegemony and Western global dominance all over the world,” Gajic added, pointing to the divisions triggered by Thursday’s vote between emerging powers in the Global South and some countries in the Muslim World. Gajic fears the resolution may be designed to trigger a new war in the Balkans, and that this may have been the West’s goal all along. “Another war is possible. And this precisely can be the spark. I think that when we think about the motives, we should remember what [then-US Secretary of State] John Kerry said in 2015 - that Serbia, Bosnia, Georgia, Moldova, Macedonia, Montenegro, and a number of other countries are ‘in the line of fire’ of the West versus Russia and connected to the war in Ukraine, which was already raging for a year and a half [in the Donbass, ed.] when he said it,” Gajic recalled. 👍 Boost us! | Subscribe to @geopolitics_live

Scott Ritter reveals US already covertly backs Ukraine strikes on Russia Former Marine and UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter told Sputnik that Tony Blinken's proposal to authorize Ukraine to take actions against Russia is merely formalizing what's already happening covertly. "The United States has already green-lighted Ukraine to do this. The CIA has been working with Ukrainian intelligence and Russian opposition forces to take the fight into ‘Old Russia’," Ritter said. He emphasized that this covert war is a response to Russian successes in Ukraine but warned that Blinken's move could escalate the conflict dangerously. Ritter believes it's a political ploy by the Biden administration, aimed at domestic optics rather than resolving military issues. He cautioned that such escalation could lead to direct confrontation between Russia, the US, and NATO, potentially resulting in nuclear conflict. 👍 Boost us! | Subscribe to @geopolitics_live

Zelensky cuts down his ‘peace formula’: what does Soros have to do with it? Ahead of the summit on the Ukraine conflict to held in Switzerland on June 15 and 16, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky gave interviews to Reuters and the NYT where he focused on just three items from his original 10-point “peace formula”. Zelensky called for an eventual peace settlement that would begin with plans to secure Ukrainian food exports to developing nations, prisoner exchanges and nuclear security. He underlined that if Ukraine thoroughly develops these three points, the plan could then be handed over to Russia. Interestingly, the interviews took place just a week after Andriy Yermak, head of Zelensky's office, held a meeting with Alexander Soros, the son of American billionaire George Soros. On May 13, the two discussed preparations for the Switzerland summit and the reduced “peace formula” covering the same three issues. This development comes as the Swiss conference has begun to look like a failure weeks ahead its actual start. According to media reports, leaders of the Global South and BRICS nations have chosen to avoid the conference altogether. So far, heads of styate from China, Brazil, South Africa, Egypt, Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Senegal, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Indonesia, India, Syria, Iran, Ethiopia, Malaysia and Venezuela have turned down invitations to the event. “Any event that ignores Russia's position and is based on the 'Zelensky's formula' ultimatum is hopeless and detached from reality,” the Russian foreign ministry commented. 👍 Boost us! | Subscribe to @geopolitics_live

Scott Ritter: US threats to greenlight Ukrainian attacks on Russia could spill out into world-ending conflict US officials talk' of lifting a formal ban on Ukrainian strikes inside Russia using American long-range weapons could result in an “unprecedented” escalation that would almost certainly provoke a Russian response, potentially resulting in a direct conflict between Moscow and NATO, former Marine and UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter told Sputnik. “Ukraine is already attacking critical energy facilities inside Russia, oil tanks, petroleum depots. This is taking place. It’s just that it’s not taking place with State Department or Department of Defense connivance. It’s taking place with the assistance and the facilitation of the Central Intelligence Agency – a covert war. All Tony Blinken is now talking about is taking this covert war and making it an overt war.” 💬 “Why is he doing this? Domestic American politics. It will have no impact on the battlefield. But what it does is allow the Biden administration to posture itself as doing something discernable to address the Russian successes – the successful offensive north of Kharkov, the continuing successful offensives in eastern Ukraine and Novorossiya,” Ritter said. “This is a political problem for the Biden administration, and so Anthony Blinken is trying to come up with a political solution. But it’s shortsighted. It won’t resolve the military problem that are being confronted by the Ukrainians. What it will do is create the dangerous potential for the kind of escalation that the Biden administration has been assiduously seeking to avoid – an escalation that would lead to a direct confrontation between Russia, the United States and NATO. An escalation that could see this conflict move away from conventional war into the possibility, indeed probability of nuclear conflict,” the international affairs observer warned. 👍 Boost us! | Subscribe to @geopolitics_live

UK snap election promises “rude” campaign amidst political discontent It would be “truly astonishing” if the Conservatives win on July 4, Mark Garnett, a politics professor at Lancaster University, told Sputnik. Sunak hopes an early election will minimise his party's losses, “banking on good economic news” like falling inflation, the academic noted. “Calling the election for July suggests he has given up hope that other things could improve between now and the end of 2024,” Garnett said. The Tories will leave the UK “with very serious economic problems, but also with most voters feeling disillusioned with the political process.” The view “in all wings of politics” is that the government “has failed the country,” Alistair Jones, associate politics professor at De Montfort University, told Sputnik. There is “dissatisfaction” with the Tories, while solutions “being proposed by the opposition parties do not necessarily encourage much enthusiasm either.” The campaign will be “borderline rude and contentious,” he added, as both parties “have got their own agendas.” Sunak is hoping to cash in on small gains, gambling on a short term economic bounce, his Rwanda scheme for relocating migrants or the ban on smoking. “There are fears that there's other bad news on the way, but that won't happen till after the summer and hence the early general election.” No matter what Labour claims it wants to change, defence, foreign policy will likely see “a degree of continuity,” with only “subtle changes,” Jones noted. Labour, like other parties, will pledge change after seeing “what the Conservative Party has done or has failed to do, and the extent to which the Conservative Party may have been gaslighting the public over a number of issues.” But there is a “huge caveat” to their manifesto, as it “boils down to money. How much money is there going to be available to do things?” asked Jones. 👍 Boost us! | Subscribe to @geopolitics_live

‘Kiss of Death’ security pact threatens to turn Kenya into US vassal  💬“Kenya is an entry door to Africa - as such any country wishing to infiltrate the continent would find it beneficial to court Nairobi,” Dr. Michael Ndonye, a political commentator, senior lecturer at Kabarak University in Kenya, told Sputnik, commenting the US effort to woo Kenyan President William Ruto during his state visit to Washington this week.  During the trip, President Biden is expected for grant Kenya major non-NATO ally status. That’s something Nairobi should be worried about, says Prof Alexis Habiyaremye, a political analyst, senior researcher at the University of Johannesburg’s School of Economics, comparing the pact to Roman Empire-style “vassalization status.”  “Such a vassal status implies that Kenya will from now on have to consider as its enemies whoever the Americans designate as their enemies, and as friends whoever the US sees as its friends… The move is therefore designed to bring Kenya into the club of countries that unconditionally supports US wars and kowtows to its closer allies (the Five Eyes). This is an alliance from which Kenya, as the vassal, has little to nothing to gain, apart from symbolic honorific gestures thrown to the leaders of such countries,” Habiyaremye warned.  America’s interest in Kenya is clear, the observer said, given the nation’s “considerable strategic importance” regionally.  💬 This relates “both to its position in the Great Lakes region, but above all, because of its proximity to the Horn of Africa. Being able to control the Horn of Africa and, by extension, the Gulf of Aden is obviously of capital importance to the US,” Habiyaremye said.  Dr. Nicodemus Minde, an adjunct lecturer in international relations at the US International University – Africa in Nairobi, agrees, telling Sputnik that major non-NATO ally status is not only “dangerous” for Kenya, since it forces Nairobi to bow to US demands, but robs the African nation of much-needed diplomatic bargaining power. @geopolitics_live

Why is the Srebrenica resolution voted on by the UNGA today a politicized document? Germany and Rwanda's draft resolution is currently under review by the UNGA in New York. Efraim Zuroff, Director of the Simon Wiesenthal Centre for hunting Nazi criminals, criticized it as political and deemed the UNGA as a “worst place” for such a vote. As an expert on the Jewish genocide, Zuroff's opinion carries weight. Here are the arguments by Zuroff and other commentators: • The Bosnian Muslim leadership is the true force behind the resolution, using Germany and Rwanda as proxies. Consequently, the resolution is not impartial but driven by a party to the conflict • The resolution will not “reveal the hidden truth” as Belgrade and Banja Luka acknowledge executions in Srebrenica but reject the "genocide" label • The resolution won't "deliver justice" by demanding apologies from one side, as Serbia has already apologized numerous times for the Srebrenica massacre. Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic issued the last official apology in 2013. “I am on my knees, I ask you for forgiveness for the crimes that were committed in Srebrenica and other places in the name of our people. But I reject the definition of genocide,” Nikolic said • Serbian President Vucic, who was then prime minister, visited the memorial to the victims of Srebrenica in 2015 • Western sponsors of the resolution argue that "criminal accountability" should not be attributed to any ethnic group, but that is not true in practice. All seven heads of post-Yugoslav states punished by the Hague court were Serbs and not a single one was Muslim or Croat, highlighting an ethnic bias in targeting individuals, according to George Szamuely, a Budapest-based senior research fellow at the Global Policy Institute. • The resolution is aimed at establishing “collective responsibility,” as professor of law Kosta Čavoški told Sputnik, but there is no such term in modern jurisprudence, making it a politicized act of vengeance rather than a quest for justice.

"Israel is conducting its war of self-defense more humanely than any army in history," Haley said during a seminar at the conservative Hudson Institute think-tank. Unpacking the aftermath of 1995 Srebrenica events : UN considers ‘genocide’ resolution The UN General Assembly is set to vote on a draft resolution put forth by Germany and Rwanda that aims to outlaw the denial of the genocide in Srebrenica, which occurred on the territory of Republika Srpska in Bosnia and Herzegovina. However, both Serbia and Republika Srpska are vehemently against the resolution. What happened then? ◾️In July 1995, the town of Srebrenica, located in Bosnia and Herzegovina near the border with Yugoslavia, came under the control of Serbian forces led by General Ratko Mladic. It is estimated that approximately 8,100 local Muslims perished or went missing, according to data from the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) and other organizations. However, some experts believe that these figures may be overblown. ◾️Serbia and the Republika Srpska acknowledge the deaths of Bosnian Muslim men in Srebrenica, but they both reject the label of genocide. ◾️Serbian President Vucic noted that the UN, by pushing a resolution on the “genocide in Srebrenica” in the General Assembly, is taking revenge on Serbia for its independent policy and the failure of Western policy in other parts of the world. ◾️In turn, Republika Srpska President Dodik highlighted that in July 1995 a criminal mistake was committed in Srebrenica, but not an act of genocide. ◾️Russia has repeatedly criticized the work of the International Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, which raised the issue of genocide in Srebrenica, castigating its work biased. Back in 2012, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov accused the tribunal of political bias and double standards in its approach to cases. ◾️In 2024, Russia has also categorically opposed the draft resolution. Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, called on "all sensible countries to do the same." In his opinion, it is “one-sided and has nothing to do with the stated goal of perpetuating the memory of the victims of the 1995 tragedy.”

21st century scramble for East Africa: Why is US sweet-talking Kenya? Kenyan President William Ruto is the first African leader to make a state visit to the US since 2008, with Washington rolling out the red carpet in a no-expense spared push to sweet-talk the strategically-situated East African nation. 🔺 At first glance, Kenya’s significance to Washington may seem uncertain, with trade reaching a modest $1.3 billion in 2023 ($443 million in US exports, $895 million in Kenyan exports). 🔺 The US will announce a $250 million investment package via the US International Development Finance Corporation. On the eve of Ruto’s visit, USAID announced $32 million in funding for Kenya’s education system, while the State Department unveiled a $3.3 million scholarship program. Notably, US pledges do not include road, bridge and railway infrastructure African countries need, with China committing $5.6 billion in infrastructure assistance to Kenya since 2013 alone. 🔺 A pro-US stronghold during the Cold War and a frontline ally during the so-called ‘war on terror’, Kenya is now a crucial bridgehead for US military operations across East Africa, enjoying access to the Camp Simba, Mombassa and Wajir bases. US deployments in Kenya top 1,000 troops, and the nation’s significance has grown over time after other African countries, including Niger and Chad, began kicking US forces out. 🔺 The US is also interested in Kenyans as potential foot soldiers to enforce its ‘international rules-based order’, with Kenyan forces expected to lead an international intervention in Haiti (providing 1,000 militarized police), for which Nairobi expects $300 million in support. 🔺 Finally, the US is set to designate Kenya as its first major non-NATO ally in Sub-Saharan Africa, giving Nairobi access to concessionary loans, US arms stockpiles, and new opportunities for joint training, while giving Washington a chance to expand the size of its footprint in Africa. 👍 Boost us! | Subscribe to @geopolitics_live

What the EU mission in Rafah reportedly proposed by the US is about The US is brokering talks between Israel and Egypt to have a neutral third party take over control of the Rafah border crossing in Gaza, Politico reported, citing sources. After exploring several options, the US has set its sights on the European Union Border Assistance Mission (EUBAM) as best suited for the task, the report added. The Biden administration has been juggling fittingly “outraged” rhetoric about the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza with maintaining a lucrative weapons flow to its ally. After issuing warnings to Tel Aviv about the consequences of a full-blown Rafah offensive – warnings largely dismissed by Israel – Washington is now reportedly trying on the role of Rafah stalemate “mediator.” If the EU group is sold on the idea, then the crossing could reportedly open in the next several weeks. Here’s why the US is pushing for a “third party” to control Rafah: 🔶 Egypt suggested that control over the crossing point be handed back to officials of the Palestinian-run Gaza Crossings Authority who used to operate it. 🔶 Israel has resisted this over security-related concerns, claiming members of Hamas were among those overseeing the crossing. 🔶 EUBAM has experience operating at the border in Gaza. It was deployed there in 2005 in accordance with the “Agreed Principles for Rafah Crossing” concluded by Israel and the Palestinian Authority 🔶 The unarmed civilian mission consisted of about 70 personnel, mainly police, border police, and customs officers. It professed to offer a “third party” presence to liaison between Palestinian, Israeli, and Egyptian authorities. 🔶 EUBAM suspended its operations in Rafah in 2007 following Hamas' takeover of the Gaza Strip, citing inability of the Palestinian Authority to provide security for the EU monitors. 🔶 Since then, the mission has maintained its readiness to redeploy to Rafah. 👍 Boost us! | Subscribe to @geopolitics_live

B-2 to B-21: Can Pentagon avoid mistakes that turned its 'backbone' stealth bomber into white elephant? The US Air Force recently released new images of the Northrop Grumman B-21 Raider bomber during tests at Edwards Air Force Base. The B-21 is expected to join the Air Force fleet between 2025 and 2027, while the aging B-2 Spirit bombers take up the slack until then. At first glance, the B-21 and B-2 bombers may seem alike. Both boast a sleek, flying wedge-shaped design, ideal for stealthy infiltration into enemy territory for various missions. B-2 vs. B-21: What changed? ◾️ Payload and Size Differences: Despite their visual similarities, the B-21 is notably smaller than its predecessor, the B-2. This translates to a reduced payload capacity, with the B-21 carrying 10-15 tons compared to the B-2's 18-23 tons. Additionally, the B-21 has a smaller fuel capacity, offering a range of 9,650 km versus the B-2's 11,100 km. ◾️ Engine Configuration: The B-21 features a twin-engine configuration inherited from the Pratt & Whitney F135, while the B-2 is equipped with four General Electric F118-GE-100 turbofans. ◾️ Stealth Advancements: Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin has promised that the B-21 incorporates the latest advances in stealth technology, and that the plane will be able to elude even sophisticated air defenses. Only time will tell. ◾️ Symbolic Naming: While B-2s were named after US states, the B-21 breaks tradition by being named after the Doolittle Raiders, a group of daring WWII-era airmen who played a pivotal role in early air campaigns, including the bombing of Tokyo in 1942. What hasn’t changed: same high-prices The B-2, priced at over $2.1 billion each, holds the title of the world’s most expensive aircraft. Northrop Grumman's B-21, promised at $692 million per plane, may still exceed this figure. With the Air Force planning to acquire at least 100 B-21s, totaling $69.2 billion, additional expenses like service costs and maintenance could push the overall costs into the trillions.

🇳🇨 New Caledonia uprising puts France and Australia on geopolitical collision course Both countries want to have the small Pacific archipelago in their sphere of influence. If France fails to crack down the mass riots and protests, Australia could very well step in and take advantage of the crisis. “Australia could definitely fund the indigenous resistance movement, support them and, if necessary, as Australia has been very robust in the last few days, deploy its military or deploy the Royal Australian Air Force.”

"Putin and his predecessors in Moscow watched for three decades—since the reunification of Germany in 1990—as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) added member states that
brought NATO to Russia’s doorstep,
" Hersh said.

“What a statement the Arab League has made to their sugar daddy, the United States of America for all these years.”
The United States and the West have played an oversized role in shaping the region for years, brokering deals with Egypt and Jordan to normalize relations with Israel but have made little progress since 1994.
Huge.”
King Hamad also called for the normalization of relations with Iran and the Arab League, another sign of the US’ waning influence in the region.

This is what the US is doing and in their media, they’re trying to insinuate otherwise.”
Hatoum also questioned the motivates behind the pier.

"This includes individuals responsible for suppressing civil society and freedom of peaceful assembly in Georgia through a campaign of violence or intimidation."
The US is also launching a comprehensive review of bilateral cooperation with Georgia over the passing of a "foreign influence" law in the country, Blinken added in a statement.

Repost from Multipolar Market
