Mocking the Religion of Allah Is No Entertainment: Beware of Watching Those Who Mock It!

| 2 | Do Not Let Your Tongue Become Neglectful of “Lā Ilāha Illā Allāh”
The eminent scholar Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān (may Allah preserve him) said:
“Among the people are those whom Shayṭān causes to become heedless of saying:
‘Lā ilāha illā Allāh’ — ‘None has the right to be worshipped except Allah.’
So he hardly ever says it, remembers Allah with it only a little, and does not repeat it frequently, despite the fact that it is weighty upon the Scale.
It is indeed a tremendous statement, yet few are those who pay attention to it, keep its significance present within themselves, and accustom their tongues to uttering it and repeating it—except those whom Allah, Glorified and Exalted, grants success.”

| 3 | Trials Are a Means of Raising the Believer’s Rank and Erasing His Sins
Shaykh Zayd ibn Muḥammad ibn Hādī al-Madkhalī, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:
“The trials that afflict believing men and women, and Muslim men and women, in their various forms, are never intended by Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, to destroy them.
Whether it be illness, poverty, or different kinds of calamities, Allah does not intend thereby to cause them hardship or punish them. Rather, it is so that He may raise their ranks and expiate their sins.
So the believer who is afflicted with something of this—whether illness, poverty, fear, or other various calamities—while remaining patient and seeking the reward from Allah, is the one who attains a tremendous gain through the multiplication of good deeds and the removal of sins.
And this is among the greatest gains sought by intelligent believers.
Likewise, the expiation of sins is among the greatest things a person can attain.
So if you come before Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, while He has multiplied your good deeds and erased your sins from you, then that is indeed the great success.
Accordingly, if believing men and women, and Muslim men and women, are afflicted by any of the calamities of this world in their various forms, and they remain patient, seek the reward from Allah, believe in the Divine Decree and Predestination, and do not become distressed and despairing, then they will be rewarded with an immense reward.
They will attain profits unlike any of the profits of this worldly life: their ranks will be raised greatly with Allah, their good deeds will be multiplied, their sins will be erased, and their misdeeds will be expiated.”

| 5 | The Servant’s Fear That His Deeds May Be Nullified Without Him Realising
Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:
A person must therefore fear that his deeds may be nullified without him even realising it.
The nullification of deeds may occur through:
Self-admiration and a sense of entitlement before Allah, the Most High. A person performs an act of worship, then becomes impressed with himself and says: “I did this, I prayed, I gave charity.”
Or through showing off that accompanies the deed and thereby corrupts it.
Or through evil deeds that surround and outweigh it when the deeds are weighed.
If someone asks: Regarding the statement of Allah, the Most High:
﴿أَنْ تَحْبَطَ أَعْمَالُكُمْ وَأَنْتُمْ لَا تَشْعُرُونَ﴾
“Lest your deeds should become worthless while you perceive not.”
[Sūrah al-Ḥujurāt: 2]
Can a person actually realise that his deed has been nullified?
The answer is: Yes. He may realise that his deed has been nullified if he does something that nullifies it.
This verse is similar to the statement of the Prophet ﷺ:
“Indeed, a servant may utter a word that incurs the wrath of Allah, without giving it any thought, and because of it he falls into Hell.”

| 6 | The Importance of Blessing and Some of Its Causes
Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:
A servant should ask his Lord to bless what He has given him, because if Allah does not place blessing in something, the servant will either not benefit from it at all or his benefit from it will be limited. But if Allah places blessing in it, he benefits from it, and the benefit derived from it becomes greater and more expansive.
From this, you come to recognise the importance of blessing in what Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has granted. Indeed, the entire matter lies in blessing. For this reason, he said:
“And bless for me what You have given me.”
Blessing has many causes, among them:
In business dealings: The Prophet ﷺ said:
“The two parties to a sale have the choice [to complete or cancel the transaction]. If they are truthful and make everything clear, their transaction will be blessed for them. But if they lie and conceal, the blessing of their transaction will be erased.”
Among its causes is also licking the plate and the fingers after eating.
And among them is that a person should not measure out the food kept in his household. For example, if he brings a sack of rice into his home, he should not measure it out, because if he measures it, the blessing is removed from it. But if he leaves it as it is, Allah places blessing in it, and he simply takes from it each day whatever he needs without measuring it.
This is what has come in the Sunnah.

| 9 | I ask Allah, the Lord of Might and Majesty, the All-Powerful, the Irresistible, to free Yemen from the oppression, corruption, fear, and turmoil brought upon it by the Houthi militias; to break their oppression, repel their harm from the people, protect the innocent, grant victory to the people of truth and Sunnah, and restore security, righteousness, and tranquillity throughout that blessed land.
And I ask Him, Glorified and Exalted is He, to liberate my beloved city, Al-Hudaydah, from the grip and oppression of the Houthi militias; to protect its people from their harm and from every evil, preserve their religion, lives, homes, and honour, and return Al-Hudaydah peaceful, secure, prosperous, and radiant once again.
The people of Sunnah in Yemen have endured oppression, displacement, persecution, and fear, but the night of oppression, however long, does not last forever. Above every oppressor is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and no injustice escapes Him.
Allah, the Exalted, says:
﴿وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ اللَّهَ غَافِلًا عَمَّا يَعْمَلُ الظَّالِمُونَ﴾
“Consider not that Allah is unaware of that which the Zālimūn (polytheists, wrong-doers, etc.) do.”
[Ibrāhīm 14:42]
And He, Glorified and Exalted is He, says:
﴿وَلَيَنصُرَنَّ اللَّهُ مَن يَنصُرُهُ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَقَوِيٌّ عَزِيزٌ﴾
“Verily, Allah will help those who help His (Cause). Truly, Allah is All-Strong, All-Mighty.”
[al-Ḥajj 22:40]
So Ahl al-Sunnah must never measure the promise of Allah by the hardship of the present moment. Circumstances change, powers rise and fall, and the days are turned among mankind:
﴿وَتِلْكَ الْأَيَّامُ نُدَاوِلُهَا بَيْنَ النَّاسِ﴾
“And so are the days (good and not so good), We give to men by turns.”
[Āl ʿImrān 3:140]
How powerful, then, are the words of the Imām of Yemen, Muqbil ibn Hādī al-Wādiʿī, may Allah have mercy upon him, who said:
“The people of Sunnah are those through whose hands Allah will bring about good, and through whom Allah will grant victory to Islam and the Muslims.”
Tuḥfat al-Mujīb, p. 215.
And he, may Allah have mercy upon him, said directly to Ahl al-Sunnah in Yemen:
“You, O people of Sunnah, have been promised victory, because you have been oppressed in Yemen. In Upper Yemen, the Shīʿah have oppressed the people of Sunnah, and in Lower Yemen, the Ṣūfīs [have oppressed them]. Perhaps a person would be dragged by his beard here or there. And those days We alternate among the people.”

These are words of firmness, not despair. Imām Muqbil, may Allah have mercy upon him, witnessed the oppression of Ahl al-Sunnah, yet he looked beyond the hardship of the hour to the promise and decree of Allah. Today may be hardship and tomorrow relief; today weakness and tomorrow strength; today tears and tomorrow gratitude.
﴿فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا﴾
“So verily, with the hardship, there is relief. Verily, with the hardship, there is relief.”
[ash-Sharḥ 94:5–6]
O Allah, preserve Yemen and its people. O Allah, remove the oppression of the Houthi militias from its towns and villages, repel their harm, protect the oppressed from their injustice, and grant the people of Yemen security after fear and relief after hardship. O Allah, protect Ahl al-Sunnah, and make them keys to guidance and rectification.
﴿وَالْعَاقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ﴾
“And the good end is for the Muttaqūn.”
[al-Aʿrāf 7:128] | 614 |
| 10 | Shaykh Sulayman Ar-Ruhayli, may Allah preserve him, said:
These are days of testing and distinction—days that distinguish the people of the Sunnah and the Jamāʿah from the other sects of deviation, and make clear who stands in the ranks of the people of the Sunnah and who stands in the ranks of their enemies for the sake of worldly gain, in its various forms.
The verses of Imām ash-Shāfiʿī, may Allah have mercy upon him, and the rest of the scholars of the Muslims, are completely true:
May Allah reward hardships with every good,
even though they make me choke upon my saliva.
And my gratitude to them is not by way of praise,
but through them I came to know my enemy from my friend. | 484 |

| 12 | Shaykh Sulayman Ar-Ruhayli, may Allah preserve him, said:
There must be some pain in war, but the pain of the people of truth is not like the pain of the people of falsehood. The people of truth suffer pain and are rewarded, then they are granted victory, and the good outcome is near, by the permission of Allah. As for the people of falsehood and their supporters, they have nothing but screaming and lies.
Our Lord said:
“And don’t be weak in the pursuit of the enemy; if you are suffering (hardships) then surely, they (too) are suffering (hardships) as you are suffering, but you have a hope from Allah (for the Reward, i.e. Paradise) that for which they hope not, and Allah is Ever All-Knowing, All-Wise.”
[Surah an-Nisāʾ 4:104]
So, O men of our forces, and O our beloved people of Yemen: steadfastness, steadfastness; cooperation, cooperation; strength, strength. For the truth is with you, and the deeds of your enemies will become a cause of regret for them, then they will be defeated, by the permission of the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of all. | 509 |

| 14 |  Who Are the True Awliyāʾ of Allah? Neither Lineage, Colour, Country, nor Race Makes One an Ally of Allah — It Is Only by These Qualities!

| 15 | The Meaning of the Prophet’s ﷺ Statement: “The Supplication of One of You Will Be Answered So Long as He Is Not Hasty”
Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:
Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said:
“The supplication of one of you will be answered so long as he is not hasty.”
Meaning: a person is deserving of having Allah answer his supplication unless he becomes hasty.
The Prophet ﷺ explained what hastiness means: that a person says,
“I supplicated and supplicated, but I did not see my supplication being answered.”
Then, at that point, he becomes weary and gives up making duʿa.
This is from a person’s ignorance, because Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, does not withhold from you what you have asked Him for except due to wisdom, or because there is some impediment preventing the supplication from being answered.
But when you supplicate to Allah, then supplicate to Him while allowing hope to outweigh despair, and think well of Allah until He grants you what you desire.
Then, if Allah gives you what you asked for, that is what you sought.
And if He does not give you what you asked for, then He may repel from you a calamity greater than it—and you do not know—or He may store its reward for you with Him until the Day of Resurrection.
So do not despair and do not grow weary. Rather, continue supplicating to your Lord, and do not think badly of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, for Allah, the Most High, is All-Wise.
Allah, the Most High, says:
﴿وَعَسَىٰ أَنْ تَكْرَهُوا شَيْئًا وَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ وَعَسَىٰ أَنْ تُحِبُّوا شَيْئًا وَهُوَ شَرٌّ لَكُمْ﴾
“Perhaps you dislike a thing while it is good for you, and perhaps you love a thing while it is bad for you.”
[Sūrah al-Baqarah: 216]
And since supplication itself is an act of worship, then why should you not increase in it?
We ask Allah to grant us and you success in that which He loves and is pleased with.

| 16 |  Entering the Mosque at the Time of the Adhān: Should You Sit, Stand, or Pray?

| 17 | The Sunnah of Praying Two Rakʿahs After Returning from Travel
Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:
Regarding the statement:
“He would begin with the mosque and pray two Rakʿahs.”
This is a Sunnah that many people have either neglected or are unaware of: when you first return from travel, you should enter the mosque and pray two Rakʿahs, even if it is during a time in which prayer is generally prohibited, because this prayer is connected to a specific cause.
The Prophet ﷺ used to do this, and he also instructed Jābir, may Allah be pleased with him, to do so in the story of the sale of his camel. When Jābir came to the Messenger ﷺ to hand over the camel, the Prophet ﷺ instructed him to enter the mosque and pray two Rakʿahs there.
But in which mosque should you pray them?
We say: What appears to be the case is that you may pray them in any mosque in the town to which you have returned, whether it is on the outskirts or in the centre, and whether it is the mosque of your own neighbourhood or another mosque.
However, if you are able to pray them in the mosque of your neighbourhood, then that is better and more preferable. This is because Madinah contained many mosques, yet the Messenger ﷺ would only pray in his own mosque.

| 19 |  Shaykh Dr. ʿAbd al-Rahman al-ʿUmaysān:
“O Allah, aid Your monotheistic servants, and intensify Your assault upon the Houthis. O Allah, Revealer of the Book, Controller of the clouds, and Defeater of the ahzāb, defeat the Houthis, break their strength, turn the tables against them, and make them spoils for the monotheists.
Heal the hearts of the believers through their removal, and grant us relief from their wickedness and filth. O Allah, make the shots of the monotheists accurate, and make them steadfast.
O Strong, O Mighty, O Compeller.” | 898 |
| 20 | Shaykh Sulayman Ar-Ruhayli, may Allah preserve him, said:
“O men of Yemen! O people of wisdom, chivalry, dignity, and strong determination! Hold fast, hold fast to the Rope of Allah; remain united, remain united; and strike with one hand, so that your Yemen may once again become prosperous.
Do not pay attention to those who discourage you, nor to the whispers of the devils among mankind and the jinn. For indeed, you are engaged in jihād for which you are commended, and, by Allah’s permission, before long you will praise the outcome.
We bear witness—a testimony for which we will be held accountable—that your Saudi brothers and neighbours want good for you and honour for your country. They are joining you in your efforts to cleanse your country of the mischief of the Houthis, at the request of your legitimate leadership and in coordination with it. They bear whatever burdens they bear because of this, without holding it over you as a favour.
So cooperate with them, for cooperating with them is an obligation. And know that whoever calls you to do otherwise has deviated from the correct path and has other motives. So do not be among the heedless.” | 886 |
