Глядя на этот пример архитектурного интертекста, как тут не вспомнить знаменитый дом Андреа Мантеньи в Мантуе, который живописец построил для себя за пятьсот лет до «палаццо Гагосяна» и который в свою очередь отсылает как к работам Леона Баттисты Альберти, так и к удивительной росписи плафона, выполненной художником в «брачном чертоге» Палаццо Дукале в 1474 г! ——— An example of architectural intertextuality, Palazzo Gagosian calls to mind another significant building, which was erected five hundred years earlier in Mantua. We’re referring to Casa Mantegna that Andrea Mantegna started to build for himself in 1476 and that also references one of his earlier works, a magnificent illusionistic oculus on the ceiling of the Camera degli Sposi ("bridal chamber") in the Ducal Palace that dates back to 1474. Вестник постмодернизма, выпуск №128 В 1980 г. британский архитектор Терри Фаррелл получил необычный заказ на проектирование теплицы в центре Лондона, павильона для временного (!) цветочного рынка «Clifton Nurseries». Поскольку бюджет был скромным, а сроки минимальными, Фаррелл прибег к «готовому решению» для основного объема, снабдив его классическим фасадом с дорическими колоннами, перекликающимся с церковью Св. Павла, возведенной в стиле английского классицизма на участке напротив. Созвучие фасада, который, к слову, наполовину был пустышкой, с этой церковью 17-го века проявилось не только в архитектурной плоскости: граф Бедфорд, владевший землей под церковью, в свое время ограничил объем финансирования и амбиции архитектора Иниго Джонса напутствием: «Сей церкви не должно быть краше амбара». На это Джонс ответил: «Тогда Ваша Светлость получит амбар, великолепнее которого не будет во всей Англии!» ——— Sunday Postmodernism, issue No. 128 In 1980, British architect Terry Farrell was approached with an improbable commission to design a temporary greenhouse in Central London’s Covent Garden for Clifton Nurseries’ flower shop. Operating with limited funds and time on his hands, Farrell opted for an "off-the-peg" design for the main volume, adding a neo-classical facade whose Doric columns were in tune with St. Paul’s Church, which had been built in the 17th century directly across the square. Interestingly, the similarities between the two builds went beyond their facades. Commissioning Inigo Jones to design St. Paul’s Church, Lord Bedford, the owner of the land, instructed the architect to be economical in his use of the funds and build a church "not much better than a barn". To that Jones famously responded, "Then you shall have the handsomest barn in England." Оказывается, в 2022-м году построили новый крематорий для домашних животных - в этот раз в Тайвани. Очень радует, что эта типология продолжает развиваться, и прощание с животными постепенно становится важным ритуалом. Мне кажется, это может помочь нам на пути постепенного увеличения базовых прав животных и отказа от жестого обращения на скотоводческих производствах. Спроектировали Formwerkz Architects #лайк

RSA Metzstein Architecture Discourse 2016 - Peter Zumthor - Part 1

In 2016 the RSA were delighted to welcome Peter Zumthor as speaker of the Metzstein Discourse. Part 1 of the Discourse featured a lecture and overview of Peters work. Part 2 features a conversation between Peter Zumthor and Marion Löhndorf. The Metzstein Disocurse was recorded 13 October 2016 at the Gordon Aiken Lecture Theatre, Edinburgh.
