Message from the Leader of the Islamic Revolution to the Iranian People Regarding the Memorandum of Understanding between the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful Dear patriotic and loyal Iranian people, As you are aware, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the President of Iran and the United States. In the process of reaching this stage, the relevant officials made earnest efforts driven by caution and good intentions, although the American President resorted to various forms of pressure due to his inability to achieve this outcome. Naturally, I held a different opinion, but I granted permission based on the commitment made by the honorable President of the Republic, in his capacity as head of the Supreme National Security Council, on behalf of himself and all members, to safeguard the rights of the Iranian people and the Resistance Front. He explicitly declared his willingness to bear responsibility, stating, as His Excellency affirmed, that they would not submit to the American side if it attempted to impose expansionist dictates or demand more. From this moment onward, we—that is, you, the proud people, and this humble servant—will await the fulfillment of the mentioned conditions. However, it is self-evident that the direct negotiations to be held in the future will in no way imply submission to the enemy's opinion. We all hope that the prayers of our Master (May God hasten his glorious reappearance) will inspire the proud people of Iran with all kinds of victories and triumphs.
