The first thing I ever bought after coming here was a bicycle. It's IMPOSSIBLE to walk to classes.

I don't feel like I will ever need to go outside the campus until I leave. Even the Visa Center and the Bank are inside. It's huge.

#longread #Namangan First part - Nanay. I and my classmates embarked on a journey to my friend's house amidst crazy mountains, close to the Kyrgyzstan border. At first, my parents were hesitant about my visit, but the day before we had to leave, I got their permission. Sadly, the evening train tickets that my classmates bought were sold out. I purchased morning train tickets to set off on my own, feeling a mix of excitement and solitude. Alone in the train carriage, I finally arrived at Namangan City, and my first task was to figure out the way to Nanay. Although unfamiliar with the area, I navigated with ease. The locals were very kind. I only asked for directions, but people's responses extended beyond that; they shared information on what type of cars to pick, how much to pay, how long it takes to get to Nanay, etc. The residents were eager to help, something I rarely see happening in Tashkent. Around the time of Jummah, I arrived in Nanay, and the mosque was packed with people. As soon as I stepped out of my car, something happened that left a lasting impression on me. The people noticed my presence and, without hesitation, began offering me spaces within their midst. After I told them I don't have purification for prayer, their warm hospitality continued. One kind individual invited me into their home so that I could perform wudhu. (I couldn't go inside the mosque to get the purification because of how crowded it was). This act of kindness and generosity deepened my appreciation for Namangan. After prayers, I met my friend Jamshid and we had dinner together. As midnight approached, we went out to meet other guys. There were 13 of us. We didn't sleep, but that didn't make us feel any less eager about the experiences we had planned for the next day. Starting the next morning with two hours of football, continued by a swim in the cold river, we had lunch and took some much-needed rest. Mountain climbing and horse riding were the next adventures we had. I found riding horses to be surprisingly simple despite my initial concerns. However, a newfound fear emerged - standing behind the horse, aware of their immense strength that could knock me out with a single kick. We went on midnight walks, had some ice cream, and did some silly stuff. Time flew by, and I wish we stayed for longer, but there were other parts of the Namangan region that we had to explore. To be continued... @javokhiraliev
