What religion are you?
Talking about religions on this sub got me curious... what religions do y'all identify with? If you don't believe in any you can of course just say atheist or irreligious. Also, if you are religious has your asexuality ever caused any issues with your faith?
Please keep conversation respectful. This is NOT a debate thread.
I'll kick it off: I'm deist. Obviously my asexuality hasn't ever conflicted with my beliefs.

is it weird as a homoromantic asexual to get aroused by any sexual content regardless of gender?
im an asexual lesbian and i definitely don’t feel sexual attraction AT ALL but i find that any kind of smut, porn, etc etc can be arousing despite the genders in it. im also the kind of ace that doesn’t have any desire to have sex irl.
i really never cared all that much because whatever was arousing was arousing and it wasn’t about the person, but i find myself worried a lot that this means i can’t be a lesbian. i only have romantic attraction to women strictly and don’t find myself being sexually attracted to anyone at all. ive engaged in some x reader smut but it never felt like it was about the characters really. i also am a writer and ive written a lot of things (f/f, m/f, from the perspective of men, women, gay men, bi women, straight women, trans women etc etc.) but i found i engaged in a lot more straight smut targeted towards women who are into men. im definitely not into men but i participated in a lot of m/f smut writing because the dynamics were interesting. i always felt like it was the dynamics of the story that were arousing and entertaining rather than the people but since i’ve engaged m/f to such a disproportionate amount of anything else (added detail im in a lot of fandoms that are very male heavy so whatever im reading/writing is for/from that fandom which is why i come across such a disproportionate amount of gender pairs).
i feel like this is normal for an ace—especially since fantasies/writings/porn habits don’t change ur orientation but ive never seen anyone talk about things like this. im curious if any other aces get this because i know i cant be alone. i definitely dont feel like im orientated any way sexually because i dont want to have sex and the idea of ME actually doing those things is not pleasant at all

Stop asking us about your Asexual Partner
I am so tired of seeing those posts going:
"My partner is (potentially) a Sex Repulsed/Sex Averse Asexual, what do I do??"
Often sprinkled in with the assumptions or plain out mentioning that their partner suffered from SA. Sometimes even details about their previous sexual experiences or any other PRIVATE details that have no business being on the goddamn Internet.
You know why they fuck me up so much?
Because EVERY SINGLE ONE of them has the SAME fucking answer and it's pissing me off.
"TALK. TO. YOUR. PARTNER.
NOT STRANGERS ON THE INTERNET.
AND KEEPS YOUR PARTNERS INTIMATE DETAILS TO YOURSELF."
We are not one unite or a hive mind. That's like assuming all heteros do. Stop it. Use your brain. COMMUNICATE with your partner, stop oversharing on the Internet.

Am I asexual or just traumatised?
hey, so i’m 18. i have often times wondered if i am asexual. last year i was sexually assaulted/raped. it came along with a lot of trauma alongside being in an abusive relationship at the time and struggling with mental health. after being assaulted i ended up “cheating” on my then partner with people online because this rape had made me feel like i was only going to be loved or validated through how attractive i was, or how i could perform for others sexually. my ex boyfriend objectified me a lot and blamed me for my assault which made things a lot more complex. but i began to realise that i’ve never done anything sexual with someone and genuinely enjoyed it. i don’t mind making out with people and often enjoy that, but if im in a long-term relationship i often lose interest in doing sexual things completely. i find the thought of doing anything further than making out completely repulsive and scary. i’m not sure if this is due to trauma from being assaulted or genuinely just being asexual. i have fantasies about having sex but they’re always with unattainable people because that feels safer due to that situation never being able to actually happen. i don’t know honestly, i do get aroused but never for a specific real life person. i don’t feel the urge to have sex with specific people i find attractive within my personal life. i would really appreciate any and all advice, thank you :)

Questions for alloaces (asexual but not aromantic)
I'm 20nb and ive identifed as aroace for 4ish years. But im questioning my romantic orientation. Ive tried talking to some friends who are gay and pan and asked what is romantic attraction for them but they only give me answers that are sexual and romantic not just romantic. So my question are.
How do you know you experiences romantic attraction?
What is the difference between platonic and romantic attraction?
If you are polyamous or non monogamous what are the different feeling you feel for a friend or partner?
If it normal to love your friends just as much as your partners?
Thanks to anyone that answers. Im very confused about if im demiromantic because i love my friends more then other people tend to and idk if thats romantic or not. Im also polyamous and have a QPR/partner who i love deeply but i cant tell if its romantic or not.

Ace rep in Heart Stopper🖤🩶🤍💜

Did anyone have a problem with the asexual representation in Heartstopper?
I know with the character Isaac, we see he's an aro ace. And it's good to get that type of representation. But I would have liked to see a character who's into romance without wanting to have sex. I feel like a lot of asexual representation acts like it's all or nothing. That being ace automatically means aromantic which isn't true. I'd like to see the challenges on TV represented of wanting to be in a relationship without ever wanting sex.
And then there's Charlie's sister who came out as asexual. But I don't like how Charlie said he could tell since she always appears repulsed by men. That doesn't mean asexual. She could still want a man but not have sex with him. And it doesn't mean you find men disgusting either.
