Everyone keeps asking me about Freedom Friday tonight and I just keep thinking nah, I gotta get to Shelley Luther Shelley Luther and I have been friends since I helped reopen her Dallas Salon during the pandemic. My husband waited in line to get a haircut that day to bring her business and I stood outside for days until they took her to jail. We were there at the jail when she got out, have spoken at countless Freedom and Trump rallies together, and when she ran for office I was there for her lowest moment… til now. Now I am going to go and help assess, adcocate, and see my friend. Freedom Friday is cancelled tonight. The stuff that matters isn’t stuff at all. This doesn’t mean so much to me cause of what’s in the bag, but WHY it’s given. “Thanks for helping save our son last Christmas.” “Lori Jean, you are part of our God story.” It’s about the lives you help- the people that are saved and get to live to see another Christmas holiday with family because of you. Its the ones that got out of the hospital because of the care you gave to them or maybe even the hope you had when everyone else said they’d never make it. Nursing is a calling & Advocacy is too. They’re not for the faint of heart. Many times I spend my Christmas or other holidays helping others. I’ve put my career and family at risk and often put them to the side when others needed me too. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m so proud to be a nurse and an advocate. And thankful for the people who remember me fighting hard for their loved ones, whether it was the outcome we prayed for or not. 💕🙏🏻 Thank you Kristin for remembering me and for your sweet gift!
