A message from " A message of inspiration and appreciation for ThinMint From @EverySparrow Paula Good morning faithful Thin Mint prayer warriors! Paula here from the @CallToBattle Team. Our team is collaborating with team Thin Mint, and we are blessed to assist Kris while she focusses on advocating for her husband Felix during his recovery from Covid. I wanted to take the time to say I am absolutely proud of this community. Seeing so many beautiful prayers, kind sentiments and great advice from complete strangers. All of our hearts are united in love for a fellow sister and her beloved husband as if she were our own family. For me personally, Thin Mint has a way of giving me a soft place to land in the midst of a chaotic world. Sometimes we need a break from it all and this is one reason I was drawn to her channel. She has a gift. Her encouragement, her spirit, and attitude is enough to help get you through those days when it seems the news is just downright exhausting to listen to. Her channel reminds me a little of the daily Dear Abby column from years ago. You look forward to reading it, and end up with a smile or chuckle. No wonder she chose a happy smiley face avatar because it reflects the disposition of her soul and it represents her true spirit and outlook on life. Her love and trust in God is pure. And that is why we love her and are pulling for her family. Oh I almost forgot! Have any of you tried her recipes? I’m going to be making her sugar cookies this weekend. Have you tried her Hot Cocoa recipe yet? Helooo, rich, smooth as silk chocolatey and decadent goodness! (Now cue the Barry White song: I can’t get enough of your love babe 🎵🤣) I just made it last week and let’s just say it was a hit in my family. It is a keeper. I call it Thin Mint Hot Cocoa. Next time I will had a shot of peppermint to the batch, and or place a little sweet candy cane to stir it with. I think we need to put a cook book together with all her recipes…don’t you? What do you do when it feels like God has brought you to the edge of an abyss? What do you do when terror continues to strike your heart, darkening it, shredding it? What do you do with feelings of helplessness, guilt, despair? You lay it at The Cross. Trusting God requires us to be obedient to Him. Yesterday morning was rough. I wanted to tell Him how brokenhearted I am. I wanted to lament. I wanted to intercede. I felt the Holy Spirit prompting me to praise God instead. When you want to pour out your heart’s contents to God, but His Spirit is telling you to turn your pain to praise, He counts your deference and belief as righteous. While reading Psalm 103 yesterday morning, I wrote down Who God is and what He has done for us. I don’t know where I read this (the credit goes to someone else): “David the hero; David the warrior; David the outlaw; David the sinner; David the king; David the victim –no matter which part of David’s life you study, you find him seeking God, praising God, crying to God, consulting God.” Oh to have the heart of David. -ThinMint

For those who have mentioned this, I would need to hire a litigator. This would cost roughly $15k-$20k, on top of a $5k or so retainer. The process can take weeks, and finding a friendly judge… The most important thing to me is listening to God's instructions. There are many moving parts, things are fluid and change on a dime. I couldn’t even begin to count the number of hours I/we have spent on the phone, scouring the internet and following leads trying to get help. So many doors have closed that I have to believe that God is the one closing these because it has to be Him who does this miracle. I feel I need to do everything on this side of things while He takes care of that side of things.

FELIX UPDATE: Felix’s WBC was at its lowest point yesterday at 10.4 but today it’s 18.5. He has a blood clot in his calf and was taken off blood thinners days ago because of some minute stomach bleeding. For the last two days blood hasn’t been detected, and though I have asked at least twice a day for the last 5 days for him to be put back on blood thinners, it hasn’t been done. This week’s admitting doctor has been pushing for an IVC filter, but Felix is too unstable to lie flat for the procedure. The doctor is also pushing the GI to do an endoscope and to get a PEG line placed in his stomach. This week’s renal doctor called me two days in a row (!) and she said his kidney numbers are improving, and she had the vascath (dialysis) removed from the neck. I asked her if he could get vitamin C and zinc (I’ve been asking for this several times a week). She asked me why and I said because those are supplements he takes on a daily basis, his body is used to it, and it would help boost his immune system. She said she didn’t have any concerns and it would be up to the attending physician (last week’s attending refused every time I asked). Felix’s sedation has been basically reduced (he’s been given pain and anxiety meds) in an attempt to get him to wake up. He has not been responding to “painful stimuli.” I saw his oxygen level when he arrived at the ER. It makes me sick to my stomach to see the insanely low number so I will not share it. But, it’s why the attending and I are so deeply concerned. His waking up, whole and complete mentally will be another miracle that declares the power of the Lord. We continue to advocate for my presence by his bedside.

My Fellow Friends and Prayer Warriors - I cannot go into all the details right now... There are continued discrepancies, conflicts in what I am told. From what I understand, Felix was completely taken off sedation sometime during the night and then basically went into panic mode. His blood pressure shot up to 200 (systolic) yet I was told this morning from a doctor that everything was fine, no changes in vitals, no concerns. This is just one of many examples. He has a blood clot but they took him off blood thinners due to minute stomach bleeding which the GI consult felt didn't warrant a scope, but another doctor thinks there should be one... Yes to IVC, no to IVC... I could go on and on. I need to be there with Felix, touch him, talk to him, pray over him. I need God to battle the unseen elements surrounding the ICU. We need a miracle, because He loves us, He's merciful. "... He saved them -to defend the honor of His name and to demonstrate His mighty power." Psalm 106:8 Love, ThinMint

A message from "Team ThinMint"      Please forgive me for not being as eloquentt and thought provoking with my words as our precious TM.  During this difficult time we have thought of ways to have TM's followers connect with her, to show her and her family the love and support they deserve!  So this is our idea...     We are looking for others who have been as touched by her channel as we have.  We would like to invite others to tell their personal stories of how TM has contributed to their lives, as Tracy did a few days ago. Before midnight I called the ICU and asked one of the nurses to go into Felix’s room to tell him, “Happy anniversary; your wife loves you.” Late afternoon we got to do a Zoom call. It was great to see all the vent paraphernalia off his face! I’ve known Felix for 24 years. He won’t grow a beard no matter how much I ask or try to ply him with cookies. Guess who got their beard?! And guess who took a picture of it so they’ll cherish it forever? The kids talked to him then I got to wish him a happy anniversary. I played the first song we danced to as husband and wife. As I watched him, as I spoke to him, it felt like I was wooing him. I have a feeling when he’s home our relationship will not only reach a new deeper connection, it’ll also feel like when we are falling in love all over again. This morning they did a tracheostomy for Felix. His vitals did a little jump during it and they increased the pain meds. I was told he’s doing well now and the plan is to back off the sedation. He has a blood clot and I can’t seem to get a straight answer on some stomach bleeding he had. I still have no idea when I can get in there to see him, touch him, soothe him. We heard back from the hospital chief council -3 days after I instructed them to implement a specific treatment plan. The hospital rejected the instructions. I’m asking for prayers that God grants me wisdom in how to handle the next step. Close the doors that need to be closed and open the doors that need to be opened. I think now the hospital knows that, “There's no shadow I won't light up, mountain I won't climb up, going after Felix. There's no wall I won't kick down, lie I won't tear down, going after Felix…” Tonight’s report was good. His vitals are holding steady and the staff is working towards the goal of weaning him off the ventilator. One of his doctors called me this evening. He sounded surprised that Felix’s condition is turning around (Felix was showing signs of sepsis last Thursday. It was dire). It is my hope that all those who are interacting with Felix see the miraculous hand of God. Overall, the kids have been so solid throughout this, though our 5 year-old finally broke down Monday. She told me she misses her daddy and that her heart is breaking. All I could do was cover her with my mother’s love. God will ease the ache. I thank you for your continued prayers for Felix. Some of you shared that you’ll be praying diligently until he’s home. Your determination and dedication astound and inspire me. God has brought together some of the fiercest prayer warriors I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing. Your faith is strengthening mine. May God make it runneth over for all. Love, ThinMint
