To celebrate, the Studio has prepared an updated FAQ and errata – we caught up with JTY to learn more about the latest changes. JTY: Since the release of Warhammer: the Old World, we’ve observed the impact of new rules and miniatures after their release, to see how players adapt, responding to any queries or concerns by releasing FAQ and errata updates at a steady pace. Last summer, we made a number of changes to the core rules based on player feedback and our own experiences. This effectively created a 1.5 edition of the game, and on Saturday, the 1.5 edition core rulebook went on pre-order. For anyone without the updated book, fear not. Everything you need to play the most current and up-to-date iteration of the rules can be found within the FAQ and errata documents. Updated versions of these are being released today, and are linked below. In today’s update, we’ve added more questions and answers to the FAQ. As always, the goal of these is to clarify the rules and settle as many of the uncertainties players may have encountered as possible, based on the questions most frequently submitted to the OldWorldFAQ@gwplc.com inbox. If you have any questions, please do submit them. Whilst we are unable to respond directly, we do read all of your questions, and those asked most often are considered for inclusion when we come to update the FAQ. Whilst the core rules of the game remain untouched in this update, we have taken a look at the armies themselves. Throughout Ravening Hordes, Forces of Fantasy, and across many of the Arcane Journals, we’ve tweaked a number of model profiles and unit entries. We’ve lowered the cost of a number of models, making them more viable in your armies, and increased the cost of others to better reflect their potency on the battlefield. We’ve also altered other characteristics for a number of models, increasing such things as Leadership, Movement, Strength, or Weapon Skill as we felt was appropriate. One noteworthy change for a number of infantry units is the addition of Furious Charge. With the 1.5 update, infantry have become more defensive in their playstyle. For the most part this reflects well how such units fight – large blocks of infantry are less well suited to charging across the battlefield than cavalry or chariots, and those armed with long thrusting spears or halberds excel in defence. But there are some units that, by their nature, should be more aggressive. To this end, units such as Chaos Warriors, Gors, Orc Boyz, Empire Greatswords, and Dwarf Slayers, to name but a few, have gained Furious Charge. The extra attacks a unit with Furious Charge gains when charging the foe, or when pursuing an enemy that has Fallen Back in Good Order, encourages units that should be aggressive to act more appropriately on the tabletop, off-setting the defensive nature of other infantry units. We’ve also amended the way in which a few special rules work, either to better explain the rule or to amend its effect. The core rules FAQ and errata update also contains amendments and questions regarding the Battle March rules and the Matched Play Guide. One change we’ve made here is to add an additional caveat to the Grand Melee army composition rules, preventing any one unit from containing more than half of the total number of models in the army. The goal of this is not to prevent large units, but to encourage players towards fielding a broader spread of big and small units in their armies. We’re keen to see what impact these changes have upon the game over the coming months, and we’ll continue to keep an eye on future feedback from players and playtesters alike. Thanks, JTY! После вчерашнего представления нового, импозантного героя Ультрамаринов, многие вспомнили, что Кровавые ангелы по идее должны были стать постер-боями этой редакции... но что-то со старта прям не задалось. (У некоторых, даже есть мнение, что Крованы с обложки Армагеддона, это такой экспериментальный ход для внесения разнообразия, потому что остальные материалы новой редакции, подготовлены с Ультрамаринами на обложках и промо-фото) Тем не менее, кто-то написал Валраку типа смотри-смотри, в мобильной-строчильне Тактикус (известной тем, что туда и вправду оперативно внедряют новинки) представили новый отряд Терминаторов Кровавых ангелов! И даже представили картинку как эти терминаторы выглядят! Даже админ может подтвердить, что эта модель реальна, потому что у него на полке тоже есть отряд новых Штурмовых терминаторов с апгрейд-паком КА. Ну вы поняли короче. Спасибо, что не почесали между Спейсхалком (с прошлого года там уже не чесали). Но вторая часть видео более интересна - с сайта ГВ ушёл набор старых Интерцессоров 2017-ого года! Таким образом случится то, что многим подписчикам Лампача итак было понятно - ГВ выпустит новый мультипарт набор Интерцессоров. Валрак при этом теоретизирует, что возможно та 5-ка Интерцессоров из Introductory set (c новым Калгар Лейтенантом) это и есть новый набор интерцессоров. Видимо он пропустил, что это изи-ту-билд модели для новичков, где даже картонный террейн всего из 2-х частей складывается. При этом, он справедливо отмечает, что уход такого базового набора как Интерцессоры, означает, что релиз первых двух кодексов 11-й редакции гораздо ближе, чем осенью (как ожидалось ранее). По его оценкам, Кодекс орков может выйти в предзаказ уже в конце июля, а кодекс космодесанта следом в августе. Introducing the cannon-wielding mercenary, Grell Firefist. Grell is a widely travelled warrior who has killed almost everything that can be killed, and eaten most of it too. She’ll sell her services to just about anybody for the right price, and after witnessing her levelling entire regiments with volleys from her beloved cannon, Blastbelch, few commanders feel compelled to argue the cost. She’s so enamoured with blackpowder, in fact, that even blowing off her own hand can’t dampen her enthusiasm for explosive mayhem. The cacophony created by her cannon fire is so distracting that enemy units can’t help but pay notice, giving Grell’s ogor comrades free rein to pull back for another crushing charge. That’s if anything is left alive after a volley. Blastbelch is a fearsome weapon that can be packed with anything Grell can grab nearby, though its Ogor-made Ammunition is particularly devastating when focused on a single unlucky target. Grell Firefist will be coming out soon. Don’t make Ghazghkull come and do the work himself… he won’t like that! As promised, we’re revealing a new miniature for the winning faction – meet Kaius Konorius. Kaius fought alongside Marneus Calgar and Chaplain Cassius when all three were neophytes, and at the dawn of the Era Indomitus, he was tutoring battle‑brothers in bladework on Macragge. In the wake of his near‑fatal duel against Abaddon the Despoiler, Calgar summoned his old comrade to serve as his champion. Now, clad in armour reminiscent of the Victrix Honour Guard and armed with a pair of weapons called Severance and Rebuke, this grizzled blademaster is ready to take on all challengers. In the battle for Hive Death Mire, Imperial forces are winning, slowing the advance of the Ork attack and inflicting devastating losses on the xenos. With the campaign now at 2-0, and with only two locations to play for, the Imperium looks well placed to repulse the alien invaders completely. The Orks may still hold the imperium to a draw, though, dragging the city into a protracted state of battle (which sounds a bit like a win for Orks anyway).
