வரலாற்றில் இன்று அக்டோபர் 18 பி. பி. சி வானொலி நிலையம் 1922ம் ஆண்டு லண்டன் நகரில் அக்டோபர் 18ம் தேதி துவக்கப்பட்ட நாள். அதற்கான தொழில் உரிமை (License ) வழங்கியது லண்டன் தலைமை அஞ்சல் அலுவலகம் (GPO )

அக்டோபர் 18, உலக வாசெக்டமி தினம். (World Vasectomy Day) ஆண்களுக்கும் குடும்பக்கட்டுப்பாடு அறுவைச் சிகிச்சை செய்ய முடியும். இந்த அறுவைச் சிகிச்சையை வாசெக்டமி என்கின்றனர். இதற்கு குழாய் அறுப்பு என்று பொருள். உலகளவில் அளவான குடும்பங்களை ஏற்படுத்த ஆண்களுக்கும் குடும்பக் கட்டுப்பாடு செய்யலாம் என்கிற விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்த அக்டோபர் 18ஐ உலக வாசெக்டமி தினமாக 2013 ல் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

அக்டோபர் 18, சார்லஸ் பாபேஜ் நினைவு தினம். (Charles Babbage) 1810ம் ஆண்டில் கேம்பிரிட்ஜில் உள்ள டிரினிட்டி பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் இணைந்தவர், கணிதத்தில் தனது திறமையை வெளிப்படுத்தினார். 1834ம் ஆண்டு கணிதத்தையும், எந்திரத்தையும் இணைத்துப் பகுப்பாய்வுப் பொறி (Analytical Engine) என்ற முதல் கணினியை இவர் உருவாக்கினார். தொடக்கக் கால கணிப்பீட்டுப் பொறிகளான அனலிட்டிக்கல் என்ஜின் (Analytical Engine) மற்றும் டிஃபரன்ஸ் என்ஜினை (Difference Engine) வடிவமைத்தவர் சார்லஸ் பாபேஜ். இவர் நியமத் தொடருந்துப் பாதை (Difference Engine) அளவுக்கருவி, சீரான அஞ்சல் கட்டண முறை என பல கருவிகளைக் கண்டுபிடித்துள்ளார். இவர் தன்னுடைய 79வது வயதில் 1871ம் ஆண்டு அக்டோபர் 18ம் தேதி மறைந்தார்.

🔴 Supreme Court in Rajesh Mihir Shah v. State of Maharashtra and Another (2025) held that.... The grounds of arrest must be communicated in writing to the arrestee in the language he/she understands. Cases where the arresting officer is unable to communicate the grounds of arrest in writing on or soon after arrest, it needs to be done orally. The said grounds of arrest are to be communicated in writing within a reasonable time and in any case at least two hours prior to production of the arrestee for remand proceedings before the magistrate.

Article 21 says that no person shall be deprived of his life and personal liberty except according to procedure established by law. Article 22(2) says that every person who is arrested and detained in custody shall be produced before the nearest magistrate within a period of 24 hours of such arrest, excluding the time necessary for the journey from the place of arrest to the court of the magistrate, and no such person shall be detained in custody beyond the said period without the authority of a magistrate. Section 47 of BNSS casts a duty on the police officer to communicate the grounds of arrest to an accused person arrested without a warrant. However, neither Article 22(2) of the Constitution nor Section 47 of BNSS specifies the mode of communicating the grounds of arrest to an accused person. Read The Hindu Article
