The first word that comes to mind when we think of trials is probably not joy.
Distress, discouragement, defeat—these are more likely descriptors. 😅
Though the words “trials” and “joy” seem contradictory at first glance, James encourages us to take on a godly, growth-minded perspective.
We can have joy because we know that trials aren’t the end but are the means by which we grow in perseverance and maturity. 📈
We can take heart because “in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Rom 8:28).

| 2 |  God’s love is both unconditional and transformational. He welcomes us just as we are—but He doesn’t leave us the same.
Though the process of correction and change can be painful and uncomfortable, let’s focus on our Father’s love for us. He loves us too much to turn a blind eye to the wrong turns and detours we take.
By embracing His life-saving discipline, we have the assurance that we’re 𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝑱𝒆𝒔𝒖𝒔. 🤗

| 3 |  Metalsmiths subject precious metals like gold and silver to extreme heat, to refine them. In the same way God allows trials in our life to refine us, because our faith is precious to Him.
Through the fire of refinement and purification, our faith emerges stronger, and its quality is revealed. 🔥✨

| 4 |  +8𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐄 | A Reverse Poem
𝑴𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒘𝒊𝒑𝒆 𝒕𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒆𝒏𝒅! 👉
When what we hope and pray for doesn’t come true, we often believe the lie that God withholds good things from us, that He is fickle in the way He treats us.
Let’s be reminded of what James 1:17 tells us: “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”
God is always good—that’s His unchanging nature.
All of God’s gifts are good—even if they come in a form or at a timing that doesn’t match our expectations.

| 5 |  When life gets busy and becomes a blur, we tend to forget about the one who faithfully sustains us 🥛🍯
Today, take time to behold the giver of good gifts, recognise His provision, and count your ✨𝒃𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔✨
Then, overflow with thanksgiving and praise—He deserves it (Ps 107:1)!

| 6 |  How can one never thirst again? It’s hard to imagine what that would feel like, especially with Singapore’s hot and humid weather.
However, Jesus offers something special: living water. Water that will not leave us wanting. A drink that truly satisfies (John 4:13–14).
What kinds of wells are you drinking from today? Where do you go to find satisfaction? Jesus told the Samaritan woman, "If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked Him and he would have given you living water” (v. 10).

| 7 |  When success and victory come, who do you praise? Or do you think: “If not for my hard work and smart brain, this wouldn't have been possible!”
Fellow child of God, you have worked hard indeed. But it is our Father who created us with the abilities to produce good work (Deut 8:17–18). Our unique skills and talents give evidence to a God who cares for and loves His children. 💖
Let's use our gifts and abilities to glorify Him in all we do (Matt 5:16)! For indeed, 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗛𝗶𝗺 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗺 𝘄𝗲 𝗼𝘄𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼.

| 8 |  Can you imagine the Creator of the universe, author of life, giving life to humans who are merely mortal? God who holds authority over all things, loves and cares for us. He gave us the breath of life, not to be served by us, but for 𝒂 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑯𝒊𝒎 𝒂𝒔 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑲𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅 (Acts 17:24-25). 💖

Have you ever wondered why Jesus says, “𝑰 𝒂𝒎 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒆, 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒔”? Why does He use this analogy to describe our relationship with Him?
Just as a branch depends on the vine for life, 𝑱𝒆𝒔𝒖𝒔 𝒊𝒏𝒗𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒔 𝒖𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒆𝒑𝒆𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒏 𝑯𝒊𝒎. In a broken world where we can fall prey to lies and deceptions, staying rooted in His truth is more important than ever.💖

| 10 |  Working hard is honourable, until it becomes an idol that draws us away from God.
It takes humility to come to Jesus, let Him lead you, and learn from Him. To shed that second skin that prides itself in productivity and self-reliance. To acknowledge that apart from Him we can do nothing (John 15:5).
Rest isn’t a reward for completing your to-do list or meeting your career advancement goals. 𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐇𝐢𝐦, whether our hands are weighed down by burdens or empty of strength. 🤲

The Israelites were given the promise of rest in a land flowing with milk and honey. Yet they wandered in the wilderness for 40 years because their hearts were hardened by unbelief and disobedience.
Today, we have the same promise of God’s rest. Whether we enter it depends on 𝒉𝒐𝒘 we receive it—with faith or with unbelief.
As God's people, we don't have to work our way to salvation, but to rest in the work that Christ has finished.

Do you find yourself doing everything within your strength to make things right?
Remember, we were ransomed from our 𝒇𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒍𝒆 ways by the precious blood of Jesus (1 Pet 1:18–19). We cannot redeem ourselves, 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝑯𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒏.
Today, let’s cease from striving, and respond to the voice of God. He calls us to look to Him and His finished work. 𝑰𝒏 𝑯𝒊𝒎, 𝒚𝒐𝒖’𝒍𝒍 𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒅𝒆𝒎𝒑𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕. ✨ | 2 658 |
| 15 |  Believing in Christ’s redemption calls us to be 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒘𝒆𝒅 (Rom 12:2).
That means taking our focus away from working for the things of this temporal world. Instead let’s set our hearts 💖 on heavenly things—according to God’s will for us. “𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒔, 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒂𝒍𝒔𝒐" (Matt 6:21).
Take time to commit yourself to a transformed life for God today :)
