I've never understood JWs not celebrating feast days or having rites of passage. Feast days and celebrations like that were big in the ancient 2nd temple tradition, which is why it's also big in Orthodoxy and Catholicism, and Jesus himself participated in feast days, and he also was brought into the temple after 40 days from when he was born, which was a rite of passage in the 2nd temple tradition.

Know which battles are worth fighting The other day I was in line somewhere, and an old lady cut me in line. In fact not only did she cut me in line, she actually left the line for a bit, and then came back and cut me in line a second time. Of course a lot of people's response to that will be to go "what the fuck, lady" and that certainly was going through my head at the time. Now it's worth pointing out that this old lady was probably very well connected where we were, and for me to do that probably would have landed me on a lot of people's shit list, so I didn't. Instead I held my tongue and got to the end of the line seven seconds or so after I would have otherwise. We both will probably not even remember this happened a week from now, and in fact the only reason I even remember it now is because afterwards I made a note to make this post about it. Had I called her out on it and made a scene like many people would have in this situation, because of the social dynamics of where we were I almost certainly would have been made out to be the bad guy and ended up on people's shit lists, all for what, one spot in line? It was simply put a battle not worth fighting. Always keep this sort of stuff in mind. If we were in a different place where the social dynamics weren't such that this would probably end negatively for me and carry longer term negative consequences for me, I might've done the "what the fuck, lady" thing. Remember, there's a big difference between being a doormat and evaluating the risk vs reward and social dynamics of where you are and deciding to not escalate a situation like this. Not wanting to risk taking ten giant steps back in order to take one tiny step forward doesn't make you a doormat. A lot of people are gung ho about this muh principle stuff and end up doing way more harm than good for themselves by doing that, all to pat themselves on the back for having principles and not being a doormat.

Everything I've seen says the poles that flock cameras are mounted on are made of aluminum. If out of the whole Lindsay Clancy situation we get a huge surge of people who see that the typical modern American woman is totally whack and recognize the undeniable fact that the way women are hard wired differently than men means female liberation is an unworkable thing that we as a civilization need to wind down if we ever want to have a future that isn't pure retardation and chaos, maybe those kids won't have died for nothing. If the death of those kids brings us closer to bringing female accountability back in full force and society as a whole recognizing children's lives and us having a future matter more than mentally ill foids' feelings right now, I'm not gonna say it was worth it but at least it will have led to positive change that will hopefully lead to fewer similar situations later.

I'll be honest I don't even eat a lot of nerve these days, it's just so damn expensive. I mainly eat chicken and pork these days. I can afford beef no problem but it's just so hard to justify when my options are a chuck roast or a pork shoulder roast that's three times the size of the chuck roast for the same or less money. I'd rather have way more pork than less beef

I've heard cows are better at processing low quality feed into meat than pigs are but then in that case the pork isn't the problem it's the quality of the food the pigs are being fed, and it shouldn't matter if the pigs aren't being fed garbage quality feed
