Who Was Shaykh Kamāl al-ʿAdanī?
Shaykh Kamāl al-ʿAdanī—may Allāh have mercy upon him—was a Salafī Shaykh, teacher, author, and serious researcher who lived and taught in Dammāj.
He devoted himself to:
• Teaching beneficial knowledge.
• Researching and verifying Islamic works.
• Explaining the books of the scholars.
• Defending the Sunnah and refuting falsehood.
• Recording knowledge for the benefit of students.
• Fighting in defence of the Muslims against the despicable Rāfiḍah.
His Scholarly Works
He authored, explained, and verified numerous beneficial works. Among them were:
• His verification and commentary upon al-Risālah of Imām ash-Shāfiʿī.
• Al-Nibrās ʿalā Sharḥ al-Wāsiṭiyyah lil-Harrās.
• Al-Taʿālīq al-ʿUlā ʿalā al-Qawāʿid al-Muthlā fī Asmāʾ Allāh al-Ḥusnā.
• Qaṭafāt fī Sharḥ al-Waraqāt.
Those who come to study here in Yemen will likely study his works upon al-Wāsiṭiyyah and al-Qawāʿid al-Muthlā, as they are considered among the finest and most beneficial works written upon these two important texts.
A separate post containing a longer list of his works can be found here:

Who Praised Him?
Shaykh Kamāl was praised by a number of the scholars and teachers of Dammāj.
Among them were:
• Shaykh Yaḥyā al-Ḥajūrī—may Allāh preserve him—who wrote introductions to several of his works and praised his research, sound creed, character, and benefit.
• Shaykh ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd al-Ḥajūrī—may Allāh preserve him—who praised his knowledge, scholarly verification, defence of the truth, and refutation of falsehood.
Shaykh Kamāl was selected by al-ʿAllāmah Yaḥyā al-Ḥajūrī to participate in the taḥqīq (verification) and takhrīj (sourcing) of narrations for Fatḥ al-Bārī, demonstrating the trust placed in his knowledge and research.
His Defence of Dammāj
Shaykh Kamāl did not defend the Sunnah only through teaching and writing.
When Dammāj was besieged and attacked by the despicable Ḥūthī Rāfiḍah, he stood among those defending the Muslims.
On Sunday, 15 Dhū al-Ḥijjah 1434 AH, the Ḥūthīs fired a B-10 cannon at the defenders stationed at the Mashādir defensive position.
The mujāhid Shaykh Kamāl al-ʿAdanī and the mujāhid Abū Amān Aḥmad an-Najjār—may Allāh have mercy upon them both—were killed in the attack.
May Allāh have abundant mercy upon him, forgive him, accept his efforts in service of beneficial knowledge and the Sunnah, and place what he left behind upon his scale of good deeds.

A Student of Shaykh Rabīʿ Asked Imām Muqbil: “Who Is Your Successor?”
Towards the end of the audio, Shaykh Kamāl al-ʿAdanī narrates that near the end of Imām Muqbil al-Wādiʿī’s life, while he was in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, one of the students of Shaykh Rabīʿ asked him:
“O Shaykh, who is your successor? Who will succeed you in knowledge?”
Imām Muqbil replied:
“Yaḥyā al-Ḥajūrī.”
The student said:
“O Shaykh, we do not know this man, Yaḥyā al-Ḥajūrī. Who is he?”
Imām Muqbil replied:
“He is the one whom we have now left upon the teaching chair.”
The student then asked:
“Is he the most knowledgeable of them?”
Imām Muqbil replied:
“Yes.”
Shaykh Kamāl then added that ʿAbdullāh al-Maṭīr had also informed them that when Imām Muqbil was asked:
“Who is the most knowledgeable person in Yemen?”
He replied:
“Shaykh Yaḥyā.”
This testimony clearly demonstrates the position Imām Muqbil gave Shaykh Yaḥyā al-Ḥajūrī among his students: he entrusted him with the teaching chair, named him as his successor, and affirmed that he was the most knowledgeable amongst his students.
May Allāh have mercy upon Imām Muqbil, Shaykh Rabīʿ, and Shaykh Kamāl.
———
¹ ʿAbdullāh al-Maṭīr later deviated and joined the ḥizbiyyūn. Nevertheless, he was the one who swore that Imām Muqbil had made this statement.

SCHOLARS OF YEMEN
This channel has been relaunched with a new name and a unique focus.
Its purpose is not merely to share benefits from the scholars and mashāyikh of Ahl al-Sunnah in Yemen—such as lectures, reminders, clips, and translated benefits—so that people may benefit from their knowledge in an organised and accessible manner.
Rather, its primary goal is to expose the world to the sheer number of scholars and mashāyikh of the Sunnah found throughout Yemen.
How many major scholars and mashāyikh of the Sunnah do you think Yemen has?
Five? Ten? Twenty? Thirty? Forty?
No.
There are hundreds—perhaps even thousands—of scholars, mashāyikh, students of knowledge, and callers to the Sunnah spread across the country.
This is a long-term initiative connected to our @StudyingInYemen project. Through it, we aim—in shāʾ Allāh—to transform how people across the world view the daʿwah of Ahl al-Sunnah in Yemen.
Our goal is to produce between five and ten videos for every scholar and shaykh of Ahl al-Sunnah in Yemen, eventually amounting to thousands of beneficial videos.
Through this, we hope to establish a vast and organised index of trustworthy scholars and mashāyikh from whom knowledge may be taken.
Unfortunately, many Salafīs have been deceived by ḥizbīs and charlatans into believing that Salafiyyah is restricted to a small, select group of scholars.
This could not be further from the truth.
The daʿwah of Ahl al-Sunnah in Yemen is vast and blessed, and this project aims to document, organise, translate, and showcase it to the world.
May Allāh place barakah in this project, grant it sincerity and acceptance, and make it a means of spreading beneficial knowledge.
Anyone who wishes to assist the project through translation, video editing, design, research, or organisation is welcome to contact us.
Daʿwah is not a solo mission. The greater the sincere cooperation, the greater the benefit—by the permission of Allāh.

Repost from Gems of the Scholars
SINCERITY IS A CAUSE FOR THE AID OF THE DAʿWAH
Al-Imām Muqbil ibn Hādī al-Wādiʿī—may Allāh have mercy on him—said:
“I advise all of my brothers that they make their actions sincerely for Allāh ʿazza wa-jall. For indeed, the matter of al-ikhlāṣ (sincerity) is magnificent. Al-Ikhlāṣ is a cause for the aid of the daʿwah.”
