According to John 1:12, "Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." This identity as God's children implies being part of His family, enjoying an intimate connection with Him as our Heavenly Father. The advantages of being a child of God are numerous: we are heirs to His kingdom (Romans 8:17), recipients of His unconditional love (1 John 3:1), and beneficiaries of His protection and provision (Matthew 6:31-33). Moreover, being a child of God means we are guided by the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:14) and have the promise of eternal life (John 3:16).
