Honest Question: Did Anyone Actually Feel Bullish at -80%? I’ve only recently become a Bitcoin investor, so I wasn’t around for the brutal 70–80% crashes in the past. Looking back now, those crashes seem like incredible buying opportunities. But I’m curious what it actually felt like at the time. Were people on this subreddit excited and aggressively buying the dip? Or was the sentiment mostly that Bitcoin was dead and it would never recover? It’s easy to say today, “I wish I had bought at $3k or $16k,” but I’m wondering what retail investors were actually thinking and feeling during those moments. For those of you who lived through the 2014–15, 2018, or 2022 bear markets: What was the overall mood on Reddit? Did you personally keep buying, or were you too scared? Gentlemen it has been a pleasure. A catastrophic never seen before crash in the history of any market just happened in Bitcorn. Almost a 60% decline. Bought about 200 dollars worth today Been buying on the way down since the highs of 126K per bitcoin. If I lose some it’s not the end of the world. If I gain some cool. Probably continue to acquire it even if it goes to 20k. I just don’t see it going away since the administration has put a treasury up and the finance world decided to invest with ETFs and 401k. 2.5 years since the ETFs launched... and GBTC still charges 1.5% per year (6x market rate) For comparison... GBTC: 1.5% annual fee IBIT: 0.25% annual fee BTC: 0% annual fee Somehow 138,000 BTC are still in GBTC paying these insane fees. Probably because many people are sitting on large unrealized capital gains tax. They feel "stuck."
