Alhamdulillah, ‘Umdat Al-Fiqh Explained: A Commentary on Ibn Qudâmah’s The Reliable Manual of Fiqh I am passionate about this book. I do not collect royalties from its sales. This would not clear me of other equally or more inferior self-interests. However, I genuinely believe that it will help many readers love the Sharia and recognize its mercy, relevance, and coherence. So, I will be posting about it periodically in-sha-Allah. Here is its conclusion: The Sharia, based on the holy revelation (the Qur’an and Sunnah), sets out the way for believers to sustain a devotional relationship with their Creator and to treat His creation with justice and graciousness. In ‘Umdat al-Fiqh, Imam Ibn Qudâmah has produced a valuable resource by summarizing all the rules according to the Ḥanbali school; in these volumes, I have translated his authoritative manual and written a commentary on it. My commentary includes the views of the other schools of fiqh where warranted, and it addresses some contemporary issues, particularly those pertaining to Muslims living as minorities in non-Muslim societies. I augmented it with proofs from the revelation, as well as rational arguments, and expounded on some of the wisdoms of the legislation. Moreover, I used symbols and bullet points, as well as charts, tables, and graphs for simplification. قال أحمد بن منصور الرمادي قال: خرجت مع أحمد بن حنبل ويحيى بن معين إلى عبد الرزاق خادماً لهما. قال: فلما عدنا إلى الكوفة قال يحيى بن معين: أريد أن أختبر أبا نعيم. فقال أحمد: لا ترد، فالرجل ثقة. قال يحيى: لا بد لي، فأخذ ورقة، فكتب فيها ثلاثين حديثا، وجعل على رأس كل عشرة منها حديثا ليس من حديثه. ثم إنهم جاؤوا إلى أبي نعيم، فخرج وجلس على دكان طين، وأخذ أحمد بن حنبل، فأجلسه عن يمينه، ويحيى عن يساره، وجلست أسفل الدكان. ثم أخرج يحيى الطبق فقرأ عليه عشرة أحاديث، فلما قرأ الحادي عشر، قال أبو نعيم: ليس هذا من حديثي، اضرب عليه. ثم قرأ العشر الثاني، وأبو نعيم ساكت، فقرأ الحديث الثاني، فقال أبو نعيم: ليس هذا من حديثي، فاضرب عليه. ثم قرأ العشر الثالث ثم قرأ الحديث الثالث، فتغير أبو نعيم، وانقلبت عيناه، ثم أقبل على يحيى، فقال: أما هذا - وذراع أحمد بيده - فأورع من أن يعمل مثل هذا، وأما هذا - يريدني - فأقل من أن يفعل ذاك، ولكن هذا من فعلك يا فاعل، وأخرج رجله فرفس يحيى، فرمى به من الدكان، وقام، فدخل داره. فقال أحمد بن حنبل ليحيى: ألم أمنعك، وأقل لك إنه ثبت. قال: والله لرفسته لي أحب إلي من سفرتي). تاريخ بغداد ١٢/٣٥٣

عنوان كتاب (البيان والتبيُّن) للجاحظ ، وليس (والتبيين)، كما في عنوان المخطوط النفيس المقروء - قراءةَ درس وشرح - على الإمام اللغوي أبي ذر الخُشَني الأندلسي (ت604هـ) ، والتي كتب أبو ذر نفسه بخطه عليها تصحيحه وتثبيته هذه القراءة عليه . وقد تكلمت عن ذلك في كتابي (العنوان الصحيح للكتاب) وبينت أن شيخ المحققين عبد السلام محمد هارون (رحمه الله) كان قد أعلن رغبته في تصحيح هذا الخطأ في تحقيقه لكتاب الجاحظ . رغم ذلك ما زال الكتاب يُطبع بهذا العنوان !!

Najam Sethi is a very influential figure in Pakistani politics. After growing up in a strictly Marxist household, he joined the Baluchistan separatist movement before becoming. a journalist. He served as the Pakistan correspondent for the (Rothschild) Economist and began his own newspaper. He has served as Caretaker Chief Minister of the Punjab province, as well as the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board. Najam Sethi and his wife Jugnu Mohsin are both extreme liberals and can be seen spouting kufr regularly in Pakistani talkshows. Their daughter Mira Sethi has written liberal puff pieces for Western newspapers and is an actress in Pakistan. Their son Ali Sethi is an open and flagrant homosexual. His songs online have garnered close to 1 billion views, his most famous song is about his homosexuality. A scant number of scholars have addressed all this in Pakistan and made these connections. All these things go on and yet the typical trad desi scholars (and others around the globe) think that the spread of degeneracy today is random and by coincidence. Rather it is by design. Insha’Allah all this nonsense will be dealt with by fresh up and coming scholars in Pakistan. The globo-homo attack on Pakistan is in full flow now. It is important that students of knowledge and ulama know who their enemies are and who is behind them. They must step up or watch their society get subverted.
