The conclusions of one of the most consequential PhDs of recent times. The researcher focused on reasons why Sahabah would seemingly go against scriptural evidence.

Repost from Ash'ariyyah | الأشعرية
Another example of the phenomenon mentioned above. A Wahhabi posted a list of books arguing for the existence of God, that he says “Every Muslim should be aware of to have a strong foundation for their beliefs”.
He lists works by William Lane Craig (Protestant), Edward Feser (Thomist) and others. Not a single Sunni Muslim author is listed. He even contends in a separate tweet that the Asharis and Maturidis did no work to prove the existence of God!
As Maulana Asim and Shaykh Shams noted, the Wahhabis will happily use Latin philosophy and avoid the “evil Greek philosophy of the Asharis”.
This shows their complete ignorance of both Latin philosophy (which itself is derived from the “evil Greeks” ) and of Orthodox Islamic philosophy.

Since some people need everything spelled out for them, this is a concerned Brelvi directing a question to Sh Asrar Rashid about Sh Awwamah because the latter related Sh Nanotvi's dream.
Good to know that at least somebody is asking the real questions.

This is the para of the book. He's applying the principle of الأصل في الأشياء الإباحة to ibadat. What a disaster.
On that basis, we should be able to break into dance after every adhan and nobody should be able to say anything about it, because الأصل في الأشياء الإباحة.

For example, the Syrian Hanafi scholar Muhammad Sa’id Al-Bani (who died 90 years ago and lived in under both the Ottomans and the French) was exiled from his hometown in Damascus to Boursa for being part of the Arab Revolt. He struggled to make his way back, and had to do so while avoiding the Ottoman authorities.
He was the author of one of the greatest books in legal theory, عمدة التحقيق في التقليد والتلفيق. He records his truth and anti-Ottoman sentiments in this book.
