Islamic Ethics in Tech #47: Kibr (Arrogance)Kibr is not believing you are good. It is believing that your knowledge, success, or position makes you better than others. The Prophet ﷺ said: “No one who has an atom's weight of arrogance in his heart will enter Paradise.” (Muslim) Technology rewards expertise. But expertise carries a hidden risk. The more we know, the easier it becomes to ignore perspectives that challenge us. Kibr turns knowledge into superiority. It makes us forget that no matter how much we know, there will always be knowledge that belongs only to Allah. The real test of expertise is not how much respect it earns. It is whether it increases humility.

🕯#22 Sahaba Stories for Modern Hearts:
Umm Amarah - Nusaybah bint Ka'b (RA): The Fierce Protector
Many think courage is a masculine trait. Islam never said, “Women should stay helpless in a crisis.”The
Prophet ﷺ said: “Wherever I looked to the left or right on the day of Uhud, I saw her fighting to defend me.”At the Battle of Uhud, when the lines broke and panic set in, Umm Amarah dropped her water skins and drew a sword. She threw herself in front of the Prophet ﷺ to shield him from enemy blades. She sustained twelve severe wounds that day, including a deep gash on her shoulder, never backing down. She fought not out of anger, but out of absolute, unyielding protective love. Lessons: 🔸Devotion shows up when everyone else runs away. 🔸Courage is an attribute of the soul, completely independent of gender. @Nsda_Community 🏜 #SahabaStories #IslamicHistory

Islamic Ethics in Tech #46: Ujb (Self-Admiration)Ujb is being pleased with yourself, your abilities, your knowledge, or your accomplishments while forgetting that they are blessings from Allah. Today, technology celebrates intelligence. We praise innovation, expertise, and breakthroughs. But success carries a hidden risk. A founder begins to believe the company succeeded because of them alone. An engineer begins to believe expertise makes them beyond correction. Ujb does not begin when we look down on others. It begins when we stop recognizing our dependence on Allah. In a world obsessed with achievement, perhaps the greater achievement is remaining humble after success.
