Kibr is not believing you are good. It is believing that your knowledge, success, or position makes you better than others. The Prophet ﷺ said: “No one who has an atom's weight of arrogance in his heart will enter Paradise.” (Muslim) Technology rewards expertise. But expertise carries a hidden risk. The more we know, the easier it becomes to ignore perspectives that challenge us. Kibr turns knowledge into superiority. It makes us forget that no matter how much we know, there will always be knowledge that belongs only to Allah. The real test of expertise is not how much respect it earns. It is whether it increases humility.

An engineer begins to believe expertise makes them beyond correction. Ujb does not begin when we look down on others. It begins when we stop recognizing our dependence on Allah. In a world obsessed with achievement, perhaps the greater achievement is remaining humble after success.
