China has successfully completed the final tests of a classified hypersonic air-to-air missile designed to target high-value aircraft like the U.S. B-21 Raider stealth bomber. Capable of reaching speeds up to Mach 9 and covering distances beyond 1,000 km, this advanced weapon redefines air combat by pushing past traditional limits. #HM #HMIntelligence

I think this is what annoys me the most, they have the best intelligence in the world, they get daily updates and still they go on the world stage and lie.

A few things stood out to me from last night's fiasco. First, Trump and his senior leadership are placing the entire blame for this conflict on Ukraine while completely ignoring that Russia started it in 2014 and could end it at any time by simply withdrawing. Second, they act as if Trump alone has the final say, as if he’s a king ruling by decree—which is shocking to see in America. Lastly, making Zelensky, and by extension Ukraine, beg for support at the feet of this so-called "king" feels unsettling. It’s clear this weighs on Zelensky emotionally. At the end of the day, it’s Ukrainians who are dying and fighting, while we’re essentially funding them to weaken one of our biggest adversaries. Two major concerns arise from this: Will China feel emboldened to increase support for Russia? And what does this signal to Taiwan, Korea, and Japan? Can they still trust the U.S. to stand by them? #HM #HMIntelligence

Europe, including the UK, is already a global power, but with Ukraine, it would elevate to superpower status. Its military strength is formidable against any threat, as highlighted in the IISS 2025 Report (referenced in the comments). #UK #HM #HMIntelligence

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's recent discussions with President Trump at the White House focused on securing a commitment to Ukraine's security and exploring possibilities for a peaceful resolution to the conflict with Russia. Starmer emphasized the UK's willingness to actively support Ukraine, proposing that Britain could contribute troops to an international coalition aimed at enforcing peace following any ceasefire agreement. However, this support was contingent on the United States providing a "backstop" of intelligence, logistics, and air power. Despite Starmer's push for a robust allied military presence, President Trump was non-committal about deploying U.S. forces. He seemed to rely on the strategic implications of his proposed minerals deal with Ukraine and the presence of American workers there as sufficient deterrents against further Russian aggression. Trump expressed a degree of confidence in Russian President Vladimir Putin's reliability in adhering to agreements, suggesting that these measures would prevent further conflict. Additionally, Starmer extended an invitation from King Charles III to Trump for a second state visit to the UK, which Trump accepted, indicating ongoing diplomatic engagements between the two nations. Source: BBC, Reuters, DW So what Starmer appears to have done a good job in Washington, particularly due to his numerous historical anti-Trump statements, which Trump doesn't normally move past. It is likely that Trump is being pragmatic in this relationship, ensuring that he doesn't totally isolate the US, while also ensuring they can maintain their bases in the UK. Though Trump is playing hardball on the deployment of the US military in Europe, it is unlikely that he would leave the security of US interests in Ukraine solely on Europe. It seems like the US wants to keep the UK close, even while being tough on other partners. #HMIntelligence #HM #USA #UK #Politics #NATO

Austria has embarked on a new political journey with the formation of a three-party coalition government, consisting of the center-right People's Party (ÖVP), the center-left Social Democrats (SPÖ), and the centrist Neos party. This announcement comes after what ÖVP chief Christian Stocke described as the most challenging coalition negotiations in Austria's post-war history, highlighting the trio's effort to address public impatience due to the longest government formation delay since World War II. The coalition, marking the first of its kind since the 1940s, is set to officially take office next week pending final approvals from all parties involved, despite some reservations particularly from members of the Neos party, who secured only 9% of the popular vote. The coalition's formation effectively sidelines the far-right Freedom Party (FPÖ), which emerged as the strongest party in the recent elections but failed to form a government after coalition talks fell through. The new government has laid out a blend of policy proposals aimed at addressing current socio-economic challenges, including implementing a rent moratorium to combat inflation and introducing stricter immigration laws that emphasize integration from the onset. Additionally, they plan to introduce new taxes on large banks to manage budget concerns as Austria nears EU deficit limits. However, the coalition faces skepticism about its durability given its complex composition and the diverse policy stances of its constituent parties, alongside external pressures from the FPÖ which has criticized the coalition and called for a snap election. Source: FT, DW, Reuters So what Three-party coalitions are generally tough, but it appears they are likely willing compromise if it means keeping the far-right party out of power. However, much like in Germany, if this governement fails to make any real change on key issues for voters, we will likely see the FPO gain more of the vote, maybe even a majority. This is a tall ask as a lot of the issues in Austria and also seen around Europe, where they are proving tough to beat. #HMIntelligence #HM #Austria #Elections #Europe #EU
