| 3 | Every single morning facing long taxi lines teaches me patience more than anything else. It has given me the mindset of በደረስኩ ሰዓት እደርሳለው knowing that as long as i am in the right line and know where i am going, i will get there. Watching other lines move faster doesn’t bother me anymore. Just because you arrived early doesn't mean you will arrive early, where you are going matters. Some might start head but at some point the taxi might broke down and they might have to wait. You might feel like you are behind wish you came early but you realize everyone feels like that even those who are head of you. Even when people push or cut ahead, I simply think maybe they have somewhere incredibly important to be. Taxi lines force you to pause and think about life it is a space you cannot speed up, where all you can do is wait. Once you realize your anxiety won't accelerate the process, you actually start enjoying the wait and think of things that make your stay beautiful. | 5 | People who don’t believe in you will shoot down your ideas and what you’re trying to do by trying to remind you of your failures. And they try to be so subtle and sincere about it sometimes by starting with “I don’t mean to discourage you but remember when …” Like of course I remember I’m the one living this life … I’m the one pouring all the lessons in what I’m doing now. And even after you explain that በቃ they never cease to stop. | 7 | So a few weeks ago i built this random little side project for fun , turning a Stripe dashboard into a forest view…I posted it on X, got 215k views, and somehow 3 people from Stripe reached out. one was the Head of Design at Stripe, previously at Lyft, Airbnb, and frog. she suggested i apply for a remote design role, but apparently Ethiopia isn’t on Stripe’s hiring list, so that didn’t work out. she kinda liked the project so she told me she wanted to show it at a big design summit. funny enough, she actually did,
here’s the exact moment (it’s less than 5 seconds, but it means a lot for something i literally made just for fun)

There is a part of me that misses what could have been. How it would have been if I hadn't said that word. I think about what if it worked out. There is a part of me that misses everything.
The tables I could sit at.
The things I could learn.
The routes I could choose.
The hugs I could get.
The places I could be.
There is a heart that aches and a brain that keeps dreaming of the perfect place I have never been to, yet somehow feel like I know by heart. I miss the unclear. Even though I don't know it, it feels too real. I feel it in all my senses, even though I've never known it.
