π° Scaramucci predicts Bitcoin to reach $100,000 by the 2028 halving
Anthony Scaramucci, founder of SkyBridge Capital, expects Bitcoin to rise above $100,000 again. He stated on CNBC that this will happen as the next halving approaches.
Scaramucci reminded that the next halving will occur in 18β19 months. In his opinion, the Bitcoin price will grow as it approaches the new emission reduction, despite a number of factors holding back growth.
Among such factors, he noted that miners have transferred a significant portion of their computing power to support artificial intelligence, which has reduced the hashrate and volatility. The businessman added that Bitcoin is in its narrowest volatility range in the past five years.
Another holding factor is the capital outflow from cryptocurrencies into the AI sector.

Almost half of all bitcoins are stored in users' personal wallets
According to data from the analytics platform River, the share of bitcoins held in personal wallets (self-custody) has reached 45.6% of the total supply. This amounts to 9.57 million BTC, which is more than the combined total held on exchanges and by custodians.
Of these, nearly 38% (7.95 million BTC) belong to active personal wallets of bitcoin holders, while less than 8% (1.62 million BTC) are considered lost forever (with over 90% of losses occurring in 2011 or earlier).
For comparison: exchanges hold 2.91 million BTC (13.9%), custodians hold 4.66 million BTC (22.2%). Another 1.51 million BTC (7.2%) is held by funds and ETFs, and 1.05 million BTC (5%) by public companies.
The statistics were published against the backdrop of a hack of the Coldcard hardware crypto wallet, which allows for the offline storage of cryptocurrency assets. At the end of July, hackers found a vulnerability in the firmware of some device models, which allowed them to crack the keys and withdraw more than $100 million in bitcoin.

The third largest Bitcoin holder did not sell a single coin this year
Japanese Metaplanet, which holds the third largest Bitcoin reserve in the world, reported in its first-half 2026 report that it did not sell a single Bitcoin during these months.
The loss for the Japanese "Strategy" for the reporting period was Β₯182.7 million ($1.1 million). This is the best result among the top 3 "crypto treasuries": Strategy's quarterly loss was $8.2 billion, and Twenty One Capital's was $400 million.
Metaplanet ranks third in terms of crypto reserve size among corporate Bitcoin holders. In the top 10 of this ranking, Metaplanet is the only company not from the US.
By the end of the second quarter, Metaplanet had accumulated exactly 43,000 BTC at an average purchase price of $102,502. In Q2, the company bought 2,823 Bitcoins at $78,600.
However, the company is not only engaged in reserves. The report states that Metaplanet's hotel business consistently showed good results, partially offsetting the loss from Bitcoin investments.
Metaplanet shares (ticker 3350 on the Tokyo Stock Exchange) are trading nearly 90% lower than at the peak a year ago.

The volume of inactive BTC movements exceeded the amount stolen from Coldcard by 200 times, while only a small portion of funds arrived at exchanges.
According to Glassnode, Bitcoin continued to trade in a narrow range with historically low volatility, even as global stock markets and gold reached record highs. After a Coldcard wallet vulnerability led to the theft of approximately 594 BTC, about 119,000 BTC that had been inactive for over a year were moved within three days, but only about 10% arrived at exchanges, suggesting a transfer of funds between wallets rather than mass selling. US spot Bitcoin ETFs lost approximately 65,800 BTC in June, while implied volatility for upward movement fell to a record low of about 23%.

Has Bitcoin's growth ended? π
Bitcoin began to recover after its RSI index reached the oversold zone near the 30% mark. Although the rise so far hasn't been as impressive, it did happen. π
Now, as the RSI tests the trend line and the likelihood of the CLARITY Act being passed before the summer holidays decreases, investors are wondering if the rebound has exhausted its potential. π€
We don't think so. We expect prices to rise in the future, despite geopolitical uncertainty and the obvious delay in the CLARITY Act passing in the near future. π

The real story of Bitcoin this month is not in its price, but in its recovery relative to tech stocks π.
The BTC-to-Nasdaq-100 ratio rose 13.3% in July to 2.28x, allowing Bitcoin to partially offset the sharp devaluation it experienced relative to tech stocks earlier this year ππ°.
