When ignorance becomes confidence, scholars become targets. One of the saddest phenomena of our time is seeing people who are not known to be students of the major scholars speak boldly against the major scholars and their students. True knowledge is evident in its people. It is seen in those who have been cultivated upon the way of the major scholars, who know their own limits and speak with knowledge and humility. It is not established by access to a platform, an audience, tens of thousands of followers, or the ability to publish article after article. A platform can amplify a voice, but it cannot give that voice knowledge. Confidence may attract an audience, but it does not make ignorance knowledge. To the one who is upon this destructive path: stop attacking the scholars and their upright students, stop selectively targeting and mobilising uninformed Muslims upon your pitiful way. Respect this beautiful Dawah and its callers. Remember the standing before your Lord. May Allāh aid our brothers and sisters to stick to the way of the major scholars, to defend them, to understand the status of knowledge and it’s people, and to dedicate their time to seeking beneficial knowledge.
