■Types of Embolism :- ■By material of the embolus: ●Thromboembolism: A blood clot that travels through the bloodstream. ●Venous: Originates in the veins and travels to the lungs (pulmonary embolism). ●Arterial: Originates in the heart or aorta and travels to other organs like the brain or kidneys. ●Paradoxical embolism: A venous embolus that travels to the arterial side, usually through a heart defect. ●Fat embolism: Caused by fat particles, which can originate from bone marrow after a long bone fracture. ●Gas embolism: Caused by air or other gases entering the bloodstream, often from a medical procedure or trauma. ●Amniotic fluid embolism: Occurs when amniotic fluid and fetal cells enter the mother's bloodstream during childbirth. ●Septic embolism: Formed from infected tissue or a bacterial infection, causing an abscess in another location. ●Tumor embolism: Fragments of a tumor that break off and travel through the bloodstream, which is analogous to cancer metastasis. ●Foreign-body embolism: Caused by exogenous materials, such as talc from drug use, entering the circulation. ■ By location: ●Pulmonary embolism: A blockage in the arteries of the lungs, most commonly from a blood clot that originates in the deep veins of the legs (pulmonary thromboembolism). ●Cerebral embolism: An embolus that travels to the brain, causing a stroke. ●Retinal embolism: A blockage in the vessels at the back of the eye. ●Aortoiliac embolism: An embolus blocking a large artery in the abdomen. ●Renal artery embolism: An embolus that travels to a kidney artery. #Hemodynamic #pathology #منشورات_توضيحية #اللجنة_العلمية_دفعـ𝟜𝟣ـة
