Jack was still asleep, his face peaceful. I watched him for a moment before he slowly woke, his gaze warm and tender. Wrapped in silk, I sipped my tea while our small dog curled up beside me. His hand found mine, his fingers tracing the ring on my finger. Then he rose and returned with breakfast, the scent of warm croissants filling the air. A simple morning, yet filled with love.
