How to increase your Facebook earnings as an African Creator.
Your location can affect the value of the audience you attract on Facebook.
But you don't necessarily have to relocate to Europe or America to increase your earnings.
You can be in Nigeria and still build an audience from high-value markets.
Here are 6 things you can start doing:
—————————————————————-
1. Stop creating only for Africans
If every topic you create is built around something only people in your country or region will understand, most of your audience will naturally come from there.
Start asking yourself:
"Can someone in America, the UK or Canada also find this useful or interesting?"
You don't have to abandon African content. Just create some content with a global angle.
For example, instead of:
"5 things African businesses do wrong"
Try:
"5 things small businesses get wrong when trying to grow online."
Same knowledge. Much bigger potential audience.

2. Create content around problems people everywhere have
AI, smartphones, social media, making money online, productivity, relationships, business, career growth, technology, personal finance and many other topics are not limited to Africa.
These are global interests.
If you can explain these topics in a way that is useful to someone in London as well as someone in Lagos, Nairobi, Accra or Johannesburg, Facebook has a much bigger audience to distribute your content to.
————————————————————————-
3. Pay attention to the language you use
You don't necessarily need a foreign accent.
You need to communicate clearly.
Reduce excessive local slang, references and inside jokes when you're deliberately trying to reach an international audience.
Use words and examples that someone outside Africa can easily understand.
Your African identity is not the problem.
Making your content impossible for outsiders to understand is.
—————————————————————————
4. Study where your views are coming from
Don't just look at your total views.
Go into your Professional Dashboard and study your audience.
Which countries are watching your content?
Which countries are giving you the longest watch time?
Which topics are bringing viewers from outside Africa?
Once you notice that a particular topic is attracting viewers from the US, UK, Canada or Europe, don't ignore the signal.
Make more content around it.
—————————————————————————--
5. Create content that people outside your country will share
This is one of the biggest ways to expand your audience.
Imagine someone in London sees your video and thinks:
"This is actually useful. Let me send this to my friend."
That share can put your content in front of hundreds or thousands of people who were never following you.
Don't create content just to make your existing followers happy.
Create content that gives strangers a reason to follow you.
——————————————————————————-
6. Don't depend on Facebook payouts alone
This is probably the most important one.
Even if you successfully build a global audience, don't make Facebook's payout your only source of income.
Use the audience to sell your own products, courses, services, affiliate offers, digital products, consulting, brand partnerships and other businesses.
The goal shouldn't just be:
"How do I make more money from Facebook?"
It should be:
"How do I use Facebook to build an audience that is valuable enough to make me money in multiple ways?"
————————————————————-
You don't necessarily need to leave Africa to earn globally.
Sometimes, you just need to stop creating content that can only travel within Africa.
