Year 22: book summary
Read: 34 books
Unfinished books: 20+
Nonfictions: 11 books
Fictions: 23 books
Book of the year: "I who have never known men" read in august 1, 2025. I think about this book once a month. I want to reread it this year as well.
I didn't have a goal for 22 but for 23 I have around 10 books that are a must and freestyle the rest. Generally I want being a reader to be part of my identity that's why I do this every year(plus I lowkey made a promise for my 18th year old self to read 500 books before 25)

I found out I have trained my family to scatter the moment I start talking about the amazing thing my cat did (which is she looked like a cat)

I think UnitaryHack needs a proper closing, so here is the summary. The hackathon was open from June 3 β June 17. I worked and closed 3 issues across three projects.
* PyZX: I added documentation for three features: measurements, resets, and ancilla preparations.
* ZXlive: this was adding a new page in the doc that documents all the magic wand actions and drag-and-drop rewrites with GIFs for each one.
* TQEC: this was my prized work that led to multiple interactions with the maintainers and actually coding (stabilize gallery circuit generation).
So this should be it. I had a lot of fun this year, and compared to the last two years this is like a 300% increase (no contributions before). One thing I saw from this experience was that using AI agents was allowed, and most bounties had a pull request by the second day, but those who close are those who took the time, reviewed what they wrote, and actually introduced themselves and their work. I want to make open source saturday a thing so that I can be a good contributor to the tools I use.
Anyways, this was a 10/10 experience. If you're into qc, I highly recommend you join next year, or sooner if they run another one.

I'm making a list of books to read after I turn 23. Do share if you know any good technical books to read (or any good book).
This year's top pick is The Book of Why, thanks to him. I'm halfway through it now.
