| 3 | If you guys wonder what is a Forwared Deployed Engineer at the job posts
A Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) is a software engineer who works closely with customers to understand their real problems and then builds or adapts software to solve them. Instead of working only on a product from inside the company, you work directly with customers and connect engineering with real-world business needs.

| 6 | +1Tidal 🌊
Stop poking at the tiny buttons under your monitor.
Tidal is a tray app that controls the real brightness of every screen on your Windows PC: external monitors over DDC/CI and your laptop panel too.
• One slider per display, or "Link all" to move them together
• Hotkeys that work in any app, so you never reach for the monitor again
• Adaptive brightness: follows the sun, your laptop screen, or the light sensor
• Dims below 0% for late nights
• Per-app brightness, so movies get bright and your code editor stays dim
• Switch monitor inputs from the popup, with no menu diving
Your eyes will thank you, and so will your fingers. Linux version on the way

| 12 | Article of the Day: DRM
How streaming platforms protect their videos and audio from being downloaded and shared without permission?
That's where Digital Rights Management (DRM) comes in.
DRM works by encrypting media files so they cannot be played normally without the right decryption key. When someone requests protected content, the platform checks whether they are authorized to access it. If they are, a license server provides the necessary key under specific usage rules, allowing a compatible player to decrypt and play the content.
Depending on the DRM system and device, playback may happen in a protected environment that makes extracting the original media more difficult. This usually done by ffmpeg and other tools byt split the audio from the video and separately encrypt them so the client(browser) can't get a single MP4 or mp3 files to click and save.
The important thing to understand is that DRM doesn't simply hide the download button. It uses encryption, authentication, and license management to control access to digital content.
However, no protection is perfect. Screen recording, filming a display with a phone, or exploiting a device can still bypass some protections. That's why platforms may combine DRM with watermarking and other security measures.

| 13 | Btw, I forgot to share, @eyudevs showed me this browser extension for autofilling job applications and tracking the jobs you apply for.
It offers unlimited autofill, resume matching, resume refinement, and more, free forever for the core features, unlike other platforms that make you pay after a while. Of course, extra features may require payment.
If you're job hunting, definitely check it out!

#InternetIssues #AASTU | 386 |
| 17 | Hello to all AASTU fellows, ( and non-AASTU bros as well)
If you are in AASTU I am sure you have noticed the insufferable internet situation with both providers either completely down or running at 25KB/s where it has become almost impossible to even use mobile banking to pay at the lounges.
Both companies appear to be unaware of the situation from my investigations. Lets please make the aware, the sooner they know and start working the sooner this will be fixed.
WHAT SHOULD WE DO?
1. email customercare@safaricom.et about the issue
2. DM Ethiotelecom and Safaricom on linkedin
3. Explain the situation to agents on ethiotelecom's Ardi and Safaricoms live chat.
Non-AASTU alies we need YOUR help as well 🙌

| 18 | hi eyob, been following your channel and linkedin for a while and honestly a fan lol.
Unlike you, I am actually doing my bachelors at AASTU and right now we have a HUGE problem.
both ethiotelecom and safaricom cellular data are dysfunctional. Safaricom is completely down with EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY and tell works for calls but the internet is running at 25Kb/s
I tried reaching out to them in email, phone and even to their office in person. they don't take you seriously and both seem to be completely oblivious of the issue and say that their service is function.
So I was wondering if you have some aastu audience on your channel, i'm sure they are frustrated beyond comprehension, you can reach out to them to collectively bring this issue to the companies attention.
I was think if enough people send emails to safari and LINKEDIN messages to tele and safari, we can bring this to their attention.
keep up the awesome posts btw, and keep us posted on new stuff | 354 |
| 19 | There are actually a lot of reasons why I'm switching to Omarchy. I'm not just migrating because of the hype.
Windows has been frustrating me for a while. Every time I open Docker Desktop or run multiple things at once, my laptop freezes. I even upgraded my RAM to 20 GB(not hardware issues has good CPU and it's core i7), but it didn't fix the issue. Recently, it started randomly crashing and showing the “Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart” screen. It's annoying asf 😤😭
Plus, I'm currently learning DevOps in depth, so switching to Linux makes sense for my workflow and learning journey.
The hype might have caught my attention, but these are the real reasons I'm making the switch. 😂
