Just registered for IELTS (late September) and this post will serve as public accountability for myself, otherwise I've been very lazy lately and this might spiral further. Target is just at least 7.0 . Not aiming for higher than that at all, as the sole purpose of booking is to register for PhD.. ahh bureacracy!
If it didn't have that 2 year expiry date I would use the certificate I attained 4 years ago for lifetime)). Saying overrated in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan would be an understatement. Cheers!

π Faust, First Part by Goethe - 20/24 Book (2026)
This is what I call another absolute cinema. It counts that way only when you read and so immersed in the process that you forget the outside world exists. Must-read. I haven't even started the 2nd book (2nd part) yet here I am seeing the genius of Goethe. This was ahead of its time, the lessons, morale still hold truth from the several books I've read that were published centuries later.
"O happy he, who still renews
The hope, from Error's deeps to rise forever!
That which one does not know, one needs to use;
And what one knows, one uses never."
Read those lines again. Life forces you to act on incomplete knowledge, what matters is checking the output and refining your next action super fast. Everything is built around it, you act then fail, you learn from that failure and act again.
"The fairest stars from Heaven he requireth,
From Earth the highest raptures and the best,
And all the Near and Far that he desireth
Fails to subdue the tumult of his breast."
Greed (mostly) and any human wanting in general (or state) never ends, once you satisfy one's desire it instantly births the next one. Be it joy or melancholy, status or peace in simplicity, knowledge or bliss in ignorance, you will never say "This is it, I achieved this or that and it is going to last forever". Exactly what Mephistopheles tried to prove wrong about human nature in Part 1. I can go on and on forever here and I wish I could but I can't spoil too much and ruin the experience for some. The tragedy in the ending tho... the fact that it was based on what Goethe saw in his own life... Period.

I got offered $20,000 to sell the whole Cinemagic HD stack, but I didn't. Clearly, they were either industry giants trying to shut down the whole project after acquiring it or turning it into promotion of their own product. Two other options were: gain the how-to knowledge that took us 3 years to meticulously build, proven MVP, huge userbase or just someone trying to scam (wasn't likely from the way negotiations went). I simply couldn't trust them and it wasn't even for sale to begin with. You pour your heart into something for years and seeing it gone, I simply couldn't conceive it. At the same time I know this has been my Achilles' heel, yet someone had to do make the call anyway. If it weren't for close to ceiling pricing of CDN giants, no one would've even considered it.

Cinemagic HD version 3.0 is out from beta folks β
What's new?
1. Increased the number of movies, thanks to our providers now we have over 115,000 unique films and 30,000 series (biggest in the world) β
2. MiniApp in general for desktop and mobile got a new fresh redesign (liquid glass inspired by Telegram and Apple). Load time is 2x faster than before, browse section, with surprise me button to watch a random decent film. β
3. Significantly improved watchlist, you can now select multiple options (planning to watch, watching, completed, dropped and etc), we noticed that what users actually want is to not miss new releases. β
4. History tab inside my library shows a calendar 30 days and which films you watched in those days. β
5. New upcoming section shows major global movies/tv series (you can click on notify and bot will inform you the moment that film is released) β
6. Added 4 themes to choose from Dark (default), light (flashbang), midnight blue (my favorite), and cyberpunk (you can select in profile dropdown) β
7. Fixed gazillions of issues β
8. And most importantly: we are fully DMCA/Copyright compliant β

"We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in. Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical. Our cleverness, hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery we need humanity. More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost." - Charlie Chaplin in The Great Dictator

"They stay."
"Even with the door open?"
"Wide open. They refuse to leave."
"Is there a barrier? A magnetic lock?"
"No lock. Just a concept. They call it "loyalty"."
"A concept? How does a concept keep an entity contained?"
"They give it weight. They make a promise, and suddenly they act as if those words have gravity. They hold themselves to it."
"But if nothing is actually forcing them... aren't they just choosing to stay?"
"Exactly. The concept only means something because they could walk away at any moment. And if they stay long enough, the choice disappears. It hardens into responsibility, and quietly becomes their character. They become the promise."
"Remarkable. And if they break it? If they walk through that open door to choose someone else?"
"Itβs catastrophic. A quiet act of self-destruction. By breaking it, they un-make their own identity. They erase the person they spent years building."
"Do they realize theyβve destroyed themselves?"
"They feel it. It creates a terrible internal friction, a gap between the values they believed in and the betrayal they just committed. A dissonance."
"How do they survive that friction?"
"They build a shield. Self-justification. Instead of admitting the mistake, they alter
their own reality. They search for any excuse to prove they were right to leave, just so they can sleep at night." "They wear a mask."
"Yes. They fake a peaceful countenance. They demand trust from others, while hiding their own betrayal. 'Do
as I say, not as I do.' But by refusing to align their words with their actions, they become entirely hollow."
"So the true tragedy isn't just the betrayal."
"No. It's the dishonesty that follows. The absolute refusal to admit they are standing in a cold, empty room of their own making."
"Is there any way back for them?"
"Only if they drop the mask. The rarest among them follow a different path: when they make a mistake, they simply admit it. No excuses. No self-justification. They face the bad conscience and let it teach them."
"Why?"
"Because they realize that to ever have gravity again... you have to actually mean what you say."
