Day 13 of Growing My New YouTube Channel Here's the progress so far: ✅ 554 Watch Hours ✅ 34 Subscribers ✅ 7 Videos Uploaded ✅ The Popular Video Has 9.9K Views The goal is to see what happens within 30 days and whether the channel can meet YouTube's monetization requirements before then. One interesting observation so far is that watch hours are growing much faster than subscribers. I'm not concerned, though—subscribers usually catch up as more people discover and enjoy the content. This is another reminder that consistency matters. Keep creating, keep improving, and let the results compound over time.

Having subscribers from the US, UK, Canada, and other top-tier countries is a dream for many YouTubers. Understanding YouTube Watch Hours & Subscribers One of my recent videos on my new channel received 9.8K views and generated approximately 460 watch hours. It was a great reminder of how watch time accumulates on YouTube. For many creators, one of the common paths to joining the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) is meeting the eligibility requirement of 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 valid public watch hours within the required time period, alongside meeting YouTube's other policies and eligibility criteria. Here are a few lessons from this experience: ✅ Every video contributes. Each upload can add to your total watch hours and help you grow your audience. Consistency matters more than relying on a single video. ✅ Video length can influence watch time. If viewers stay engaged, longer videos can generate more total watch hours than shorter ones. However, length alone isn't enough—your content must remain valuable and interesting throughout. ✅ A strong-performing video can make a big difference. Sometimes, one video that resonates with your audience can contribute a significant portion of your watch hours and attract many new subscribers. While this isn't guaranteed, it does happen for some creators. The goal shouldn't be to make videos longer for the sake of length. Instead, focus on creating high-quality, engaging content that keeps viewers watching until the end.
