Tips for Guided writing/essay:
Step 1: Analyze
-Read and understand the instruction and stimulus.
-Highlight the bullet points given.
-Identify the keywords, phrases or task. This will help you to focus on the important aspects of your essay.
-Understand what the essay should be about.
Step 2: Plan
-Respond to the questions.
-Use all the bullet points given to guide you in writing you answer.
-Quickly jot down all the ideas you have.
-Ask yourself Wh-questions (what, where, when, who, how) to develop your points.
-Elaborate on the ideas/points that you have made.
-Give reasons for your point of view.
Step 3: Present
-Organise your paragraphs.
-Use suitable cohesive devices to show the relationship between paragraphs.
-Use a variety of vocabulary.
-Use short and long sentences.
-Write your essay in the appropriate style.
-Ensure that the word count is 125-150 words.
