*WAEC collaborates with security agencies to safeguard exam centres* The West African Examinations Council has partnered with security agencies to ensure maximum safety at examination centres as the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination for school candidates continues nationwide. Head of National Office of WAEC in Nigeria, Dr Amos Dangut, disclosed this while addressing journalists in Lagos. Dr Dangut, said the council had already engaged relevant security organisations to protect lives and property, especially in volatile areas across the country. He appealed to politicians and Nigerians not to engage in any form of political violence capable of disrupting the examination as campaigns ahead of the 2027 general elections intensify. Speaking on the Computer-Based Test, CBT, system, he noted significant improvement in the number of schools adopting the method for the conduct of the examination this year. According to him, while only 40 schools adopted the CBT system last year, about 450 schools have keyed into the initiative as the 2026 examination progresses. He advised candidates with withheld results to visit the examination malpractice portal on the WAEC Nigeria website to verify issues affecting their results. The WAEC boss assured candidates that results for the 2026 WASSCE for school candidates would be released 45 days after the completion of the examination, while certificates would be issued within 90 days. He also urged parents and guardians to caution their wards against examination malpractice to avoid sanctions. Dr Dangut further warned individuals involved in examination fraud and aiding candidates to cheat to desist or face legal consequences.

JAMB MOP UP IS ON 13th JUNE......

*JAMB UPDATE* UTME MOP-UP EXAMINATION TO HOLD ON SATURDAY, 13TH JUNE, 2026 The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has fixed Saturday, 13th June, 2026 for the conduct of the UTME mop-up examination for all candidates who presented themselves and were biometrically verified for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) but were unable to sit the examination for one reason or another. The 2026 UTME was conducted between 16th and ended on the 29th April, 2026. However, some centres experienced technical challenges which made it impossible for a number of candidates to sit the examination. In addition, some results were subsequently withdrawn over examination infractions, while some candidates who presented themselves for the examination could not be verified biometrically. All such candidates have been listed for the mop-up examination. The mop-up examination represents the final phase of the annual UTME exercise and serves as an opportunity to address all outstanding examination challenges involving candidates who duly presented themselves but encountered difficulties in taking the examination. Candidates in this category are advised to begin printing their Examination Notification Slips from Saturday, 6th June, 2026. Affected candidates are hereby urged to print their Examination Notification Slips, familiarise themselves with their examination centres, and make all necessary arrangements ahead of the examination date, as there will be no further opportunity for any candidate to sit the 2026 UTME after this mop-up exercise.
